I don't like that map either (not dw5m1) because it gives unfair control to someone who hasn't just been killed. you can be killed just trying to reach a wepon near you. How can you expect someone to defend themselves if they only start with a pistol. I say spawning on a SSG evens things out on the playing field. You can defend yourself while going for another weapon!

I can kill a good player on that map, then try to spawnkill them and find that their movement is much better than mine, then before i know it they have a gun and i'm dead. It's about practice, that's what levels it out, not having an ssg. Still, an impossible map Laughing

Anyway i'll stay out your thread have a good tourney guys.

Well it's good to see other people take part in our section of the forums! Don't go =P

As for map01, yeah you do get spawn killed a lot, but it is possible to plasma bump when you spawn or get the chaingun. Ive also learnt how to dodge the ssg a lot better, by getting in close and then strafing in the last second, and i usually find i can get the weapon i want without too many problems. I barely get killed at spawn, unless i spawn right in front of them, which also happens in dwango 5. In map01 you gotta work a bit for the weapons you want.

Also, d5 only really uses ssg....map01 you can use each weapon for a different situation.

Anyways, thats just my opinion

well that doesn't happen to me. i'm probably the worst 1v1 player in oceania, and i can sometimes get a killing spree on a good player just from spawn kills. take a recent game against a player by the name of DarkeTiger. i was losing to him like 49-25, and then BAM! a killing spree of spawn kills leads the game to finish on 50-31. now really, i shouldve lost 50-25 or 50-26 but the end score isnt a true representation of how the game really happened. Although, better players should be able to convert their spawn killing opportunities...technically.

Take another game in map01 against Lies. I think the score was like 13-39 or something like that. Out of the 39 spawns 4 or maybe 5 times i spawned in the bfg/rocket/ssg spawn. about 4 times i spawned on the chaingun. and about 30 times i spawned either in the corridor(...helpless) or next to the plasma.

statistially speaking, there should be equal chance of both players have spawn killing opportunities but more often than not, its not really true.

I guess each wad/map has its advantages and disadvantages. one positive note on dwango5 is, although you may get spawn killed, the next time you spawn, you are bound to spawn in place that is far away from where you died.

I played Ry just then, demo can be found here.
We didn't finish the game, the timelimit was hit, but when it was, Ry was leading 41-36 or something, I can't remember. Do we have to do it again?

im of the understanding, the match isnt replayed. just take that as the final score. however, if both of you agree, you can redo the match at a later stage if there is time.

Well that throws a spanner in the works! I guess a timelimit imposes an implicit win.

I like map01. Haven't perfected the plasma bump yet, but I still enjoy seeing some plays insist on lowering the lift to get it...

I hope it goes to some sort of sudden death and then everything explodes and all the eV members get transported to Michael Jackson's Secret Alternate Reality Neverland and they fall into a pit and get a deserving winner
