Yo guys,

Just wondering what your favourite music soundtracks are. Mine is this one:

28 Weeks Later. By the time you get to 2:15, you know that people are being dismembered.

or this...in it's entirety...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xqo3ZApCJt0&feature=related Loving the sinister bit at 7:30

I could name alot more great soundtracks but they're the two that instantly sprang to mind.

conan the barbarian, the best score ever written. rip basil poledouris.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeWUIdESI2c

the sarcastically epic theme to fargo, by carter burwell. the soundtrack is repetitive, though.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmCUYG2xuHI

the thin red line, by hans zimmer. it's the opposite of what one would expect in a war movie. slow, calm, but powerful. the journey to the line, both the scene and the track, is just stunning my brain.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG9-j3eevL4

the rock, hans zimmer again. guy's a genius and the chase is an unbeatable track. there's a different motif every 30 seconds, when other movies have to do with, like, two for the whole soundtrack. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGyb65Y9-_Y

and since thecupboard mentioned 28 weeks later, i have to say: 28 days later, the scene with godspeed you! black emperor music. gy!be <3

I'll find something to add for sure, but as I've said since I saw this thread, the 28days later - In a heartbeat - track is just such pure awesomeness.

Yes, dewww! The Fargo theme! Always thought that one was awesome.

Also, I tend to think that Sling Blade is one of my all time favorite sound tracks... I even went as far as to buy the disc for it! I wasn't disappointed.

Favorite piece from Sling Blade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut20H-r9HiM&feature=PlayList&p=E566AD4EED1037DF&index=8

The Thing!
Got a really slick MIDI version of that in one of my Nutty2 maps Wink
Morricone was apparently quite pissed that he composed this whole soundtrack for John Carpenter and then JC pretty much just used that one track for the whole film. But he made the right choice IMO.

Still never been arsed to watch that. This must change!

Yeah Basil was one of the greats. Let's not forget he also composed Robocop Smile

Both Brad Fiedel's Terminator scores are outstanding - and no, not just the opening/closing theme!

Other favourites of mine would be:
Tangerine Dream - Thief
Vangelis - Blade Runner
Roy Budd - Get Carter (the original)
Michael Stearns/Various artists - Baraka
Simon Boswell/Various artists - Hardware
Tykwer/Klimek/Heil - Lola Rennt
Various artists - Lost Highway

Just recently I've quite been taken by Carles Cases' score for Dagon

And almost any of John Carpenter's scores (Halloween, Halloween III, The Fog, Prince of Darkness, They Live, In the Mouth of Madness, Ghosts of Mars, Escape from New York, Assault on Precinct 13, etc, etc)

Now did you really have to insult my favorite song? Sad I'm a sensitive beeing and I like the wild west feeling when I'm on my bike or in the train. How about overture, the vice killing, the good the bad and the ugly etc etc? Surely that stuff makes you wanna ride your imaginary horse!

sorry geit, i'm hugely biased against the song, because there's a czech cover of it spamming local radios for last 30 years. :) and c'mon, ecstasy of gold is from the good, the bad and the ugly, which is imho generally superior to once upon a time in the west. e.g., no love story. :)

Basil Poledouris is also the author of THE MOST EPIC piece of music ever created, Klendathu Drop from Starship Troopers. seriously, with that theme, i expected the marines to be ripping the bugs apart with their teeth. but luckily, youtube provided a video that does it the proper justice! :))

Well I don't know deww.. I like both a lot, but once upon a time in the west has a better cast.. or make-up, whatever Razz I'm convised that the characteristic faces in that movie are just unbeatable. Especially in the movies they're making today; stupid candy faces. The story might be a bit less entertaining, but I merely watch the movies because I love the style and feeling of spaghetti westerns.

oh and I meant the main theme of the good, the bad and the ugly. I think that theme is called the same as the movie title.

Great to see so much love for Ennio Marricone and movie music in general. I thought the music from the Bourne series was pretty good, too. Anyone?

A Clockwork Orange is a terrible movie. If you haven't seen it, don't. But, the music is great!

The Matrix.
Any movie scored by John Williams.

These are in addition to what has already been mentioned by all of you.
