meh.
i'm not usually so forthcoming but you want that?
go write a script that fires a BFG shot at an Icon of Sin somewhere off the map. simple and done. you can even replace the 'AUUUURGGGGHHHHH!' sound with "YAY WE FUCKING WON!!!1111"
questions? |

I tried Domination, and are there special dm flags for it? Or do I need a certain vox for it to annouce the winner? |

Neither yet unfortunately. Exl's Domination test is rather crude, having been designed chiefly as a showcase of the mode and not for major play. It would be mostly trivial to correct this, though. |

I believe Oddball is one of the best game types. And since you've already created the Ball concept nicely. All you would do to implement it...
Combine your timer thing from that other assult gamemode you've got, and apply it to the green flag. Then make all other flags unaccessable. The player scores points for holding the ball, usually 120 seconds is enough. The game length grows as more players play. I've seen a game go for 45 minutes before... And in the games where there are cliffs it just turns into a frenzy in the middle while people fight while the ball resets...
Very Very fun.
Another one is Juggernaught, although I've no idea how you'd do it. The first player to get a kill becomes the juggernaught, and gets power ups, extradamage, extra health or invisiblility. Regardless it sould be very hard to kill that player. Players can only score by getting kills while being the juggernaught. Once the juggernaught is killed, the player who killed him becomes the juggernaught... ect. Approx game time: 4 Players-5mins, 8players-20mins, 16players-30+mins. |

Actually, because we can activate scripts on player death, the basics of Juggernaught/Terminator/Mutant/Tag/etc are much more practical than what you need for Oddball. There's... not quite a way to tell if a flag is being carried right now. It could technically be done with key-cards, however. |

Well throw something together if you want. I didn't know that there's no way to tell flag state. No global variables I take it... The whole point is only achieving points when you're the juggernaught.
I found it funny when someone came into deathball I was playing an just started a 1 on 1 because he had no idea what to do. He even lept into his own deathpit to capture my flag lol...
Is there a way to put the flags somewhere off the game zone? Like somewhere off to the side in a small sector or something? I just seems really stupid to have them in the pit. Just use a script to credit the team? And use skull textures to indicate the zone. Do you really have to take the green flag to your flag? |

Well, you could, y'know, make the flags not look like flags. Which I plan on doing. |

I'm totally working on stuff. Rescue the imp needs revival and I'm there. But this time I think it would be better if the imp was a bottle of spicy chipotle sauce. That would actually give incentive to the attacking team to get it. I mean who can resist the flavor of spicy chipotle?
I also need to finish up my Doom kart racing mod. There have been "racing" wads in the past but I feel like it needs to be more than a foot race. A couple of kart/car/segway skins, fast scrolling textures to simulate speed and motion, and maps and music ripped from the orignal SNES Mario Kart do the trick nicely. |
