Alright. The title might have had you thinking "well, what's this guy going to say?" Here it is.
I want you to post what you think is the "number one absolute best undefeated can-be-no-rival-to-it wicked sick guitar solo." Post the name of the band first, and then the song, sort of like this:
BANDNAME - SONG
Huzzah!
For me, it is pretty obvious.
METALLICA - ...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL |

Wow....tough question...
There's no real "best" solo to me, but here's a couple
Chuck Schuldiner's lead in "Flesh and the Power it Holds" (Death) always hits the spot.
Cynic - Veil of Maya
Alex Skolnick (Testament) - The Legacy
Eric Johnson - Zap
Marty Friedman (Megadeth) - Tornado of Souls, and tons of the Cacaphony shit with Jason Becker
Crann, I rerember learning the AJFA solo a ways back. Fun stuff, some cool licks in there. |

Angel of Death - Slayer.
But then, Steve vai and Satriani walk the earth. Whatabout Michealangelo? and Matthiaus Eklunde? Sooo many guitarist and sooo many ace solos. Most Death and Black metal bands have solo's that just totally rip. still, fast dont always mean best! Check out tha amzing PHAT JERUSALEM for some solo's too!!

You sir, are a winner for those 3 choices. 3 absolutely amazing songs. Quite surprised that anyone would put The Eagles in there, since not many people I know have ever heard of them, oh well, their loss. |

Ahh, yes. Hotel California by The Eagles... what a wave of childhood nostalgia. When I was but a boy, my father used to play on the radio my local classic rock station, Q107, and that was one of my favourite tunes, next to Sweet Child O' Mine by GNR and The Ocean by Zepp.
Another solo I thought was sweet, and a more modern one:
Machine Head- Decend the Shades of Night
And one for those classic rock nuts out there:
Pink Floyd- Comfortably Numb |

Another simple but sweet 'tallica solo, I know that too
Glad to see the mention of Trey Azagthoth and Michael Angelo by some people.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and Stratovarius! Kickass band! |

Usually, I don't enjoy listening to solos. However, I like the solos on Cyptopsy's None So Vile cd. |
