USA Open Tourney March is now open for registration, Click here to register.

Rules

- You must reply to the verification E-Mail sent to you or your place will be re-opened for someone else. This is the first stage in making sure you turn up for your match.

- If you fail to turn up for your game you will be banned from the current Tourney and next months Tourney. Only sign up if you're sure you can play, we will not tolerate no-shows.

- You must contact your opponent A.s.a.p after you find out who they are and arrange a time to play. If you miss your match and the other player turns up, the above rule applies. If neither player turns up, the above rule also applies.

- Post your scores in the forum or E-Mail them to the Tournament moderator.

- Be sure to post in the forums at least once every round. If your match doesn't get played for whatever reason, then I have no record of what extent both of you tried to contact the other. The result will be a double DQ.

- It is highly recommended that you include a messenger service as well as email. They're free to get, and they will increase your chances of playing your matches greatly.

- You may only join one tournament at a time (this does not include any special tourneys or the Pro tourney). This will ensure there are more slots open for other players.

- Rematches are no longer allowed, if you have a problem during your match speak to your apponent to arrange another time as soon as the problem becomes apparent.

- Tourney admin must be notified before the end of a round if extra time for playing your match is needed, failure to do so can result in DQ.

- Aliases are no longer allowed. If you have more than one nickname and it is used on a regular basis that's ok, a new nickname purely for the tourney will get you DQ.

Maps look good to me... UDM3 is an excellent choice for tourney maps as they are of good quality and greatly suited for 1on1.

Wasn't me this time. I point all the blame (praise) to Samiam.

Does it matter if it's the same wad? The two maps are very different which is why I chose it.

oh ok then... I just found it fishy how we have 3 tourey admins. 2 are UD. and we've used their wad twice now... but if samiam picked it... I guess it's alright.

I just thought it would be good to have a little variety. and besides, UDM3 is better for FFA. I will admit map07 is a hell of a lot better for 1on1 then map03 was.

ewww.. no offense, but I think map09 of udm3.wad is WAYYYYY better as a tourney map (and 1on1 map in general). even though I'm not gonna participate in this tourney anyway, if it's not too late to change the map, I'd recommend map09. Wink

Ok. Those accusations sure blew up in your face didn't they?

UDM3 is suited for 1on1 just as much as FFA. All odd numbered maps are designed SPECIFICALLY for 1on1s. Please, get a clue. They've all been thoroughly tested over the course of an entire year by skilled players before the wad was released.

I agree map09 is also a really good 1 on 1 map, but we aren't limited to using just one map from the pack, so expect to see more used in tourneys in the future, udm3 is a tourney admins dream really, so many good maps. This month I wanted a faster map, less tactical and I like to include maps that don't have a bfg in them sometimes, map 07 imo has excellent flow, it can be played fast or slowed down, weapons placement is great etc, I think it's a good tourney map.

I agree Samian.... I for one applaud you for picking a map without the BFG and something that provides fast pace.... That's how they should be played!

Yes it would be nice to have fast maps, fast games, etc.

But thats the game and the bfg whether you like it or not is apart of it.

Let the adminstrators pick the maps, and let the players play them.
If your all as good as everyone says, then this map shouldn't be different from any map. It's got guns, inclines, only two players can join, and it's what was picked so that is final.

ALSO: Whoever made that pick for the USA Zdaemon tourney's
--> THATS HOTT
