To see the issue, go to Doom 2 MAP07 with notarget and godmode, and stand in the leftmost corner of the starting area. Shoot the mancubus closest to your position to get his attention, and you will see that the mancubus fireballs coming at you will collide and explode on the ceiling instead of hitting you. In ZDoom, mancubus fireballs hit you. I don't know which behavior is considered to be correct, I think this needs a looking into.

You are right, the behaviour is not vanilla.
For new school wads the "real height" of projectiles make sense (e.g. Mancubus Fireball).
For vanilla we need the vanilla height.
To make both possible, we think we can manage it in 1.11 with a DMFlag.
Of course respecting Dehacked overrides.

So moved to Accepted Requests.
