i used to be able to host multiplayer servers for doom, and it ran flawless. now i dont know what happened. i went to host a game, and no one could find my server. i have the ports open in the router and modem, (not sure if done properly, but i think it is). no matter what i do or change, it just doesnt work. any ideas? if needed, i will make a youtube video and link it in here, so you can see the setups in the router and stuff. anything will be appreciated. also, in zserv32, it says that my ports are not forwarded (or open, however it is said) to 10666, it says they are in the router and modem, but i used a port checker and that told me they were not. so what is happening here? help!! i love doom!!! thanks! Question

Making a video showing your setups isn't a bad idea. It makes it easier to troubleshoot your problem.

Check some things:

1) Make SURE the ports are totally open (10666, or uPnP activated) on your router. Note the IP you've written for this.
2) Make sure your local IP is the same as the one you allowed to get heard from your router. If not, make your local IP static.
3) Try with other ports...

If that still doesn't work, that's weird.

There is one thing left:
If the router settings are correct (as Ch0wW wrote) and it still doesn't work check firewall settings. Some firewalls announces incoming traffic and ask you for permission, some just block it.

alright! i got it working. sorry about the really long delay in replies, been busy with school. but it works fine now. now, another question i have is, some of my wads i have and want to play online multiplayer will not work. when i load the custom wad, then try to launch server, it gives me errors. only does this with certain wads. any ideas? i have an awesome wad i want to host and play online with a friend, but it keeps giving me errors and not working. thanks!
