Hello ZDaemon people,

Coming Saturday we will play 'Batman Doom', a classic by; ACE Team.
As some of you might know, this wad has a VERY complex dehacked patch that really had some thought going into it. It unfortunately didn't work with ZDaemon because of many more reasons, Until now! I've been studying the wad for a while now and managed to create my own Doom Builder setup for it. Because i didn't want to touch the original Dehacked lump too much i've inserted Dehsupp to get rid of the problems. I've also re-written small parts of some of the maps to give it a better Coop experience.

Ofcourse this all didn't go without permission, I've e-mailed the authors with the question if it was alright to create a ZDaemon compatible version and one of the three brothers; Carlos, mailed back:

So for all of you that don't know anything about Dehacked or Doom Builder, Don't worry! let's do it!
There are enough batwings for everyone to make it to Map32.

IWAD: doom2.wad
PWAD: bm_zuberfix , batman_player
Wad url: http://krawaserv.dyndns.org/wads
Maps: 01 to 32 but Map02, Map05, Map09, Map13, Map17, Map21, Map26 & Map30. Those are Batcave levels with no monsters.
DMFLAGS: 206389284 / 823605824
Players: 16 + 30 spect slots
Lives: 1 (You need to survive!)
Skill: 3 // Ultra Violence.


Date: Saturday 8th of March 2014
Euro: 19:30 GMT (14:30 EST)
USA: 02:00 GMT (21:00 EST)
Locations: [SDA] / Dwango United NJ

By the nine, do you people have any sense of your own historical lineage? Batman Doom was THE dehacked wad of the olden days. And now Gewei has it working in Zedaemon!

Very nice work adapting it to ZDaemon. The dehacked stuff in Batman Doom is complex indeed so I imagine it was quite difficult to figure out everything and to fix it.

I'm not that big of a fan of this wad though, from what I've played it seems to be more impressive technically rather than gameplay-wise. But I'll give it a go if I don't forget.

There are still some maps with mines that triggers gascans to explode. I have removed these now but i plan to port the map to Hexen format and create a script that makes everything clearer to the players.

This version will help me see if there are still problems, so i can fix them in the near future, Until Batman Doom is working properly.

I didn't work all problems away but atleast it's playable now without constant desyncs and such.
