I was never that big into Heretic, but I just want to say those screenshots are looking nice - keep it up This seems like a good reason for me to give it a proper chance. |

Assuredly, converts to Heretic are always welcome. It doesn't take a lot of time to transition, the weapons and monsters are all closely related to their Doom counterparts.
How is everyone else doing? |

Yeah I would have to agree along that general line of discourse. Good work. |

Right now I really want all the new mappers' content to go in E1 and maybe E2 so people get to see it right away. So if you are making maps for this project, I promise you will get a fantastic map slot according to the map's difficulty. Like you have boss monsters in there you might get e1m8/e1m9 or e2m8/e2m9. But if you have a lot of weak monsters you will get an early slot in E1. If your map has a large variety of monsters you might get a later slot in E1 or E2. All my stuff can fill in the gaps of E1/E2 and make up the bulk of E3, E4, E5, and possibly E6 if that ever happens.
If you are mapping for this project and want to request a specific map slot, just say the words and I can probably give it to you.
In total there are about 9 new maps from me which are pretty well-polished & 36 maps from my other projects I'm dumping in to the final episodes. I'm slowing making my old maps feel less monster-spam, more detailed, more secret areas, etc.
@Ronald I'm not sure yet, I hope some people can reply to this thread and give me an estimate as to when they can finish? Do you guys need until June/July at the latest? I understand school/job commitments. |

JC how many maps do you have, just the one awesome lava theme?
Ubergewei, you posted a lot of yummy screenshots so I can't tell how many maps you have, please disclose this information?
You can be realistic in your answers, I don't mind. I'm still toiling away at my pile of shite. |

I've got 9 maps done in total Cuppy. The difficulty is progressively escalating, i hope that doesn't fuck up your whole series of maps,
since i assume that you've done the same with yours.
I'm testing some things now, enlarging some sectors. adjusting the gameplay monster-wise. It shouldn't take more than two weeks from now. But don't pin me down on it,
I'm really busy with work and my own project. |

That is certainly encouraging! Thank you for checking in. I try to make my maps escalate in difficulty also. I can't wait to see them. :>
This project will be quite awesome because it will be the 1st ZDaemon Coop map pack to (probably) span 6 episodes. |

Ye gods, number the stars, look at that curvature! What a breath of fresh air from my hallways of monotony! What are you planning for this, JC? To be quite honest it is looking like a set piece here, possibly a boss-map of E2/E3? |

Hmm also I think D'Sparil/Maulotaurs/Iron Liches/D'Sparil riding Chaos Serpent are 4 cool monsters that should not be ONLY bosses. I think they can be used sparingly throughout your maps, it is not a problem for me. It's just that the boss maps will have armies of monsters or packs of bosses for players to kill.
For example a few of my maps get very long and I like to be able to escalate to something beyond an iron lich or maulotaur and I spawn D'Sparil walking on foot via a script just because it feels more rewarding to players and something unique. I don't take the story of Heretic too seriously, D'Sparil is a cool monster because you can make him teleport places just be careful though he will kill all monsters on map once dead. |

Also, is anyone opposed to spawning chickens? I only do so in 4 of my maps (2 of them are joke maps) [and in 1 of them you have to become a chicken in order to fight other chickens]. Just food for thought. They can be good cannon fodder or mere decoration in a town setting. |
