PHOLUX

Brand new OS duel map. Fast-paced, well sized, good gameplay etc... There are plenty of tricks you can do on this map. So go download and try it out!!!

This one's an improvement. It looks pretty good, it's fun and there's a lot of nifty little cut-throughs. You might consider putting a bfg where the plasma is and maybe a plasma where the rocket on the box activated pillar is. Dunno. Weapon placement is good as is, just something to think about.

Good Job

If you change the difficulty to Ultra-Violence then there is a BFG where the plasma gun currently is, but thats the only thing that will change.

Great duel map , it seems heavily Brit11 inspired. The only issue I had with this map is there isn't any medikits or ammo in it .Hope to see this wad hosted on a server or in a tournament. Wink

Lol Luca. You only like this map because it is so damn brown! Razz
A bit of colour would not have hurt, because it makes it easier to figure out which area you've just spawned in, where you're going, etc. But it's nice to have a consistent minimalist theme and, due to the way this map is all based around a (split) central courtyard, then it is fairly hard to get lost in it. This design also means that it will, at times, have some heavy Judas-like domination going on with the spawns.

Anyways, maybe a different sky - for a slight contrast - would have been good? Same way you broke things up slightly with the hanging bodies? They seem like a bit of an afterthought, but do at least serve to mark out the east and west ends of the map.

The screens did originally make me think Brit11 too, but it's more like a DMC2 map, or Dweller M11 perhaps (what with all the verticality). I dig the slight curves and bordering detail there too - that's the kind of thing I like doing in some of my own maps Smile

It does flow nicely, aside from a couple of points where you have to zig-zag a bit to make the transition from one room to the next - ie at those crate steps. Oh, and where you have to remember to brake to get down the stairs without hitting your head. But I see these as defining characteristics of the map - which require better movement to handle - rather than flaws in it. Although the map is designed for OS, it should play very well with jumping and freelook enabled too.

Nice idea using Doom's difficulty levels (for the varied weapons) in the map too. Not many people do that anymore. Although, strangely, your text file says "Difficulty Settings : Not implemented" Laughing

Final note: RAR compression is not recommended. Sure, if someone likes your map enough, they will reupload it someplace as a ZIP, but why make it harder for them?
