|
|
Could be used as a cvar_override 'randomflag', or 'randomize', or whatever.
Allows certain dmflags to be toggled at random. I've been wanting to do this for too many WNF events now, and can imagine seeing some permanent servers with this option.
Example:
Code: | map01 randomize "sv_instagib" |
Also, randomly choose between two sets of dmflags given. This toggle both sv_instagib and sv_allowzoom:
Code: | map01 randomize "21572,131072" "285234244,131072" |

You could now probably use LOADACS and PATCHINF to randomly set a "hand-made" instagib mode. Remove all weapons/ammo from the map and when any player spawns take away his pistol and give a railgun to him. Since it will probably take a few seconds to switch the weapon you might also make the player temporary invulnerable at spawn (can be done through ACS as well). This is really not "clean" compared to direct DMFLAG switching but at least this may be a workaround |

Aye, I had thought of that; but it's a bloody tricky trick indeed. |

There's a lot of stuff can now be done, via the killer combo of PATCHINF and LOADACS, that's just waiting to be discovered!
It would work for a randomised switch to instagib - great idea SR - but it can't take care of the zoom part (or manipulating any other DMFLAGS). |

You have cvar overrides so you can specify exactly what you want on a per map basis. Why do you need random values? |

random dmflags are a bit too strong. what you want is variability.
an upcoming feature will allow variability via "map aliases" that can be combined with cvar overrides.
so you'll be able to do:
Code: | alias map01insta map01
add_cvaroverride map01insta sv_instagib 1
addmap map01insta
addmap map01 |
that way you can define e.g. two rotations with the same maps but different settings on each map. |
