majik: check your PM as to why I won't (yes, rather than can't) use them.
Everybody else: not many suggestions in here huh?* Well We do have cybershark's recommendations & HumanBones' list of used ctf wads in the ZDS wad suggestions thread to keep us very busy... Anything you guys would like to see get a replay?
* [EDIT:] I thought this thread was quite old for some reason haha, derp...

Here's a little something.. tctftest10.. aka Toke CTF. He never had the time to finish most of these maps, and they can be a little crazy but you can't expect anything else from the master himself.
I'd say the first 15 maps are the best ones (mostly because I'm not sure if the other maps are actually CTF). Map03 and Map06 stand out, but there are some other gems in there. Might be some mindless fun. |

Another hidden gem I found laying around! Actually I had wanted to include map04 in a rather illustrious compilation but I was outvoted
I speak of none other than Grotesque CTF! I think this is a pretty neat wad. The maps (1-15) you'll find here are a bit different than maps you would find in say.. a more 'competitive' CTF wad. Larger, darker, and if I say so myself.. pretty bold layouts. Not sure if Alfred was looking for this to rival something like ZDCTF, but his creativity should be something he's proud of. |

I bumped into Jad last week and was reminded of this too! Excellent suggestion.
And WNF guys? It's not like you really need suggestions, or have to work hard to pick out maplists or settings - there are still plenty of ZDS CTF setups that you haven't used yet |

Thanks for the suggestions it's nice to have some, it's been a while. I've felt a little selfish not really knowing what our community wants to play since not much was here.
And yeah those wads are great fun from what I recall, we'll hope to get them all played soon :)
Also as I've said before, if any of you guys want something specific played, don't be afraid to post here, or to ask me or Evo about it. More often than not we would be happy to consider any suggestions you have for us. |

Egads! To think that I ever ran that...
Nah, j/k! As I said in that thread, the maps are definitely not the worst ever, and do deserve to be played at least once over. |

I would like to suggest two wads Cybershark made:
- flagbase --> Adds a sprited base at flag origin points. (all four teams)
- proflags --> replaces the original CTF flag sprites (only red and blue)
Both wads can be run on seperate sessions, but they can also be run together. If you decide to run them together, make sure to run flagbase4.wad before proflags.wad.
Both wads I suggest here are presented in this thread in the Wad Editing section of the forums. You can also find in-game screenshots there. |
