|
|
This has been tested on two separate win7 x64 systems and WinXP x64.
Everything stated below is assuming that the crosshair is the main point on which any projectiles or bullets should go towards. The case is the same with rockets and bullets, but I will use rockets for my example since they are easier to follow.
When starting a game, everything seems fine. Overtime however, rockets seem to be either above or below the point of the crosshair. It gets worse over time. I'm not sure what is causing this, or why it gets worse over time. The temporary solution to fixing it is looking all the way up and all the way down (I'm not sure if the order matters since I do it a few times) but it will get worse again. To me it seems like a calibration issue somehow, since the up/down resolves it.
The rockets don't seem to go left or right of the crosshair, only vertically.
I have just installed win7 x64 and didn't notice the issue at first. I just installed a USB driver for my mouse that allows you to change the polling frequency. The game after the change I noticed this issue happening. I don't know if it is just coincidence, or if the polling rate adjustment has 'broken' something. I changed my mouse polling to 500hz (Windows normally uses 120Hz) on a MX518.

All other systems tested also had the special USB driver installed. |

Code: | 31. The client sends the full pitch angle rather than the delta to avoid
desyncs due to packet loss; we should never see again the RL fire rockets
to the floor (and killing us) when we're looking straight ahead. |
Could be related... but this was certainly fixed. I haven't encountered the issue yet in 1.09. I'm not sure if the 1.08 client/server reflects this fix, but somehow I doubt it, because from the sounds of it, it requires updates to the network protocol. |

Finally got my board back. Yea, your right - the newer version doesn't have this issue. Just thought I would post back instead of abandoning .
Thx. |
