why not have bots that can actualy participate in a coop game? Just a thaught.

You can add bots to any map or gamemode, however they will not act intelligently. And no, none of the current programmers are interested in making intelligent bots for the foreseeable future.

Heh, using some ACS, you can probably script some monsters to behave more intelligently...

If we are talking about bots it would be great to let them pickup and use a healt, armor and sprees items :33

Very interesting suggestion. At the moment, Bots in coop just walk around in circles around the spawn spot. I don't think they need to be very intelligent to be useful. I think the combination of making them see monsters as enemies (so they try to kill monsters) and having Bots follow other players would make them very useful already.

Should a bot be inactive while all human players are dead or idle? One could possibly hide from monsters letting the bot do the dirty job of killing monsters and respawning over and over again. That would be quite lame if you can basically win a map while alt+tab'ed.

Yep, I think the Bot should inactive and wait at the spawn point until there is a human player to "stalk". Bots should follow a human player around, protecting him/her. Like a body guard! Razz
