Every now and then a question regarding a certain function on IRC presents itself, such as creating/registering channels, add users to the access list, setting auto-voice, etc..

Anyway, will be adding some of the most frequently asked about commands here and their general relation.

Leaving a message for someone who has gone offline
There are two methods of doing so:
1) Using the Bot
2) Using MemoServ

For the Bot, type the following:
/msg bot !tell nick message

For MemoServ:
/memoserv send nick message

Checking for when a user was last online
There are two methods:
1) The Bot
2) SeenServ

For the Bot:
1) When in a channel where the Bot is located: bot seen nick
2) Messaging the Bot directly: /msg bot seen nick

For SeenServ:
1) When in a channel where both PubServs and PubCommands are enabled: !seen nick
2) Messaging SeenServ directly: /seenserv seen nick

With SeenServ, regardless of (1) or (2), you'll always be PMed the response.

Creating/Registering a channel:
1) Join the channel you want by doing the following:
/join #channel
2) To register..you can do either of the following:
This syntax will register a channel to your specific nickname and ensure you're the only one who can identify for it:
/chanserv register #channel

This syntax will register a channel with a password, allowing you or others to identify to it if you deem them fit for access:
/chanserv register #channel passwordhere

Once the above is done, the channel in question is yours until you either drop it (We'll get to that in a bit), or if it goes inactive and expires.

Identifying to a channel you own:
Enter the following:
/chanserv identify #channel <password>

If when you registered the channel you didn't specify a password, leave it empty.

If successful, you'll automatically be "Protected"/set to +a.

To drop a channel:
Enter the following:
/chanserv drop #channel <password>

As with above, if you didn't specify a password when registering the server, leave it blank.

If no password was specified, only you the creator will be able to complete the drop.

To set auto-voice on a channel (This requires you to be identified for your channel):
Enter the following:
/chanserv level #channel set 2 0
2 = AUTOVOICE
0 = the target minimum level you want to be effected

Once set, to test it out, get anyone else in the channel (Who is not half-opped or above) to part and rejoin the channel.

To have ChanServ Guard the channel:
/chanserv set #channel guard on

Once done, ChanServ will join.

If a channel is left inactive for a protracted period of time, ChanServ will part the channel until someone enters.

Enable !commands on a channel:
/chanserv set #channel pubcommands on

To get a list of pubcommands:
/chanserv help set pubcommands

Note: The list of commands displayed there needs to be updated, it is mostly accurate however.

More will be added to this post.
