Heh, Kybernut is busy with tournament planning at the moment so you're stuck with me again.

AHEM. I'm actually really excited for this one (yeah yeah Brit10 wtf, I know). Even though we like to play the underplayed around here, we still aim to go through map packs at least once, even the popular wads. Heck, over the years zdctfmp has been run like three times or something (since that happened, you know anything is possible around here Laughing).

It's getting late so I don't have time to give you all the exact settings though the details will soon follow! Get ready fur sum Brit10 FFA guys. Surprised

That seems like a foolish choice for a wad.

heh

But come to think of it, it's not that horrible idea after all. Adjust some settings like gravity and shit, you know, and/or add PWADs that'll make it entertaining and to differentiate it from the usual. (skins...) Razz

Enough with the April-related hijinks! Yes, that means you can screw your eyeballs into your sockets; we aren't going to be playing anything like Brit10. Maybe you were dancing with glee or bleeding internally at the thought of FFA on DM maps... In either case we're going to put the past behind us and make our way through Whispers of Satan!

It's a classic-style megawad with a wide selection of themes. We've got techbases, brickbases, Plutonia influences, and lots of hellish and fleshy moments. Overall, it is consistently high quality and won a Cacoward last year.

Now, Krawa has been running this level set for quite a while and he's got the settings and wads worked out for us so I don't have to think as much:

Game Mode: Survival (Lives: 1)
IWAD: Doom 2
PWADs: wos
wos_zd_patch1
default_item_respawn_sound

Maps: 33 (01-12, 14-34) <-- Yah, there are more than 32 here...
DMFLAGS: 81956 / 1179712
Skill: 3 - Ultraviolence
Timelimit: No
Players: 8 (+2 spectator slots)
Voting: Kick, Map, Reset

Date: Saturday 3rd April 2010
Time: 7:30pm UK Time / 9:00 pm EST
Locations: XXX & The Outpost / RedNexus

...It's survival mode this time... So like.. don't die?

Ok but what's not fun is trying to join Krawa's current server. It downloads all 11meg of WoS and then tries to do it again for each patch

Maybe just point to FatHax and let it find the rest itself?

YO, I fixed the download link on XXX server. Now it is FatHax only.
I hope I can also join ZDS, but it will be late at night Smile
Why do we not play map13? With the ZD patch map13 will work.

If some server hosts need a script to start a server at a certain time, here it is: http://www.file-upload.net/download-2401914/delay_zserv.zip.html

First @DO: Lol Coop.
Survival sounds interesting though and I actually wanted to have a look at that wad anyway some time, so ZDS seems to be good for this.

Oh and what a pity, no Brit10.

Map13 has several walkover line triggers that create bars blocking your path (as part of the traps). If a player dies in there, the map just gets broken because no one can get past the bars. So yeah, that map isn't coop friendly.

Also, I added the number of lives to the server info post.

Also, woo! WOS!

Did TUD's heart stop yet btw? Razz
