February tourneys! Finally! I'm sorry for the delay, all three of us were pretty busy around the end of the month and we couldn't get anything done in time.

Anyways, we've been overlooking a certain category so far, therefore we decided to forcefeed it to you at once. Here goes a Doom map! And by that I mean using DOOM.WAD for IWAD. 'How is that new school?' you might ask. Well, it's yet another map from Cybershark. And it has a railgun that kinda ticks/hums constantly, god I love that. Is that from Another World?

The dmflags allow the usual NS stuff (jumping, mouselook, crosshair), but combine it with some of the original limitations (unidirectional wallruns, sound limit). Also check out the small health packs, they go over 100hp. All in all, this is should be a different cup of fun.

Rules (Please read them all):

Registration:
  • Minimum Exp points needed to enter this Tourney - 1000. This is done to keep out aliasers and unreliable players. If you have proven to be reliable, you will be allowed to enter the tournament regardless of your Exp level.

  • Aliases are no longer allowed. If you have more than one nickname that is used on a regular basis, that's ok; a new nickname purely for the tourney will get you DQ.

  • It is highly recommended that you include a messenger service as well as an email address in your contact details. They're free to get, and they will greatly increase the chances of getting your games played.

  • Only sign up if you're sure you can play; we will not tolerate no-shows. Obviously we will be flexible if your internet goes down but do not sign yourself up if you know for a fact you're going to be on holiday for a good chunk of the month.

  • The registration form is still broken so anyone wishing to play should post here or contact someone with an account here to post for him (contact one of the tourney admins as the last resort). Please include: Name, Location, Contact details (email, msn, etc) and Best time to play.

Playing:
  • If you fail to turn up for your game, you will be banned from the current tourney as well as the following one.

  • You must contact your opponent ASAP after you find out who they are and arrange a time to play. If you miss your match and the other player turns up, the above rule applies. If neither player turns up, the above rule also applies.

  • Post your scores in the tournament thread or PM them to a Tournament Administrator (cybershark, dewww or Nero).

  • Be sure to post on the forums at least once every round. If your match doesn't get played for whatever reason, then we have no record to what extent both of you tried to contact each other. The result will be a double DQ.

  • Rematches are no longer allowed. If you have a problem during your match, speak to your apponent to arrange another time as soon as the problem becomes apparent.

  • Tourney admin must be notified before the end of a round if extra time for playing your match is needed; Failure to do so will result in DQ.

  • It is highly recommended that both players record demos and take screenshots of the game. It will be easier for the Admins to deal with disputes about matches if all the resources are with them.

Server rules:
  • Try making a friendly, peaceful agreement on the server choice. If both sides are happy, we're happy and everyone's happy. Good job!

  • If you can't agree on a server, both players should select two from the official trio (horizon, oblacek, l@p) they're willing to play on. You should have at least one in common. If you're locked in a 1-2 2-1 situation, go into any random server and flip a coin with "callvote flipcoin" to decide.

  • In case it's impossible for you to play on neutral grounds, play two full matches, on both sides' homefield. Finns might select a finnish server, but weird stuff running from someone's mother's PC won't be allowed. Add frags from both matches and compare them, the bigger total wins. In case of a tie, play another two matches. The 25-25 split matches should not be used, because you need to fully enjoy the fairness of this situation.

  • If you still have disputes, call an admin to make a decision. But don't expect it to be amicable and fair to everyone, as it's probably impossible at this point.

Dates:

Registration: 5/2/10 - 12/2/10
Round dates: the rest of the month

WADs: Lesion][
Map: e1m4
Players: TBD
DMFLAGS1/2: 283668 / 1322496
Tourney type: NS
Skill: 4 - NM
Fraglimit: 30
Server: L@P Germany, HorizoN, Oblacek customizables

EDIT: a small change in dmflags1 to disallow exit

BRACKETS!

It's easiest to contact me here rather than irc nowadays but i'll try to be on chat as much as i can too. I shouldn't really have any restrictions on when i can play it just depends what suits my opponent.[/list]

Heh, enjoy it all.

Dunno what you mean about 'railgun that kinda ticks/hums constantly' though Dewww, you mean when you switch to it? I can't remember where the firing sound came from, just that pickup noise is a proton pack firing up (from Ghostbusters).

I noticed the hum, and had slight belief for a while that it was the damned chaingun I kept running over!

Cool map.

If the brackets aren't already set then I'd be really upset later if I missed out on playing some SSG-free mapszes. Especially my own!
