FFA this week! And something that's been requested for a long time, although only by the author Laughing
That's not quite fair I guess as though Spacepirate surely has his name on this pack then so too does Tennie. They're some very slick DM maps which were created for their clan of the time - NK. These have become known more as FFA maps thanks to their L@P hosting but were designed more with 1on1 in mind and map06 has even been used in a 1on1 tourney here.

So... why the very brown ZDS logo this week? Well see now Quake was released on 22nd June 1996 which makes this weekend pretty much its thirteenth birthday. To celebrate then we'll be playing with Phenex2's Q1guns which I don't believe ever got to be entirely finished but I don't think he had anything left to do to it either. If you never saw it then this is probably the slickest weapon mod you will ever see on Zdaemon.

Well really, you didn't think we were going to just run the maps straight did you? Some of these maps are particularly Quake-themed so it's a good fit. Besides, I have to make up for the weapon mod we ran last week! Laughing

Well there is a todo part in the txt file after all :p
Some of the stuff had to wait because the engine
didn't support it back then.

I promise to finish this project after the ZDS!
This way i can get some feedback in case someone spots
something else that looks strange.

Really looking forward to this session!

This weapons mod is obscenely cool. Look forward to giving it a go with humans on saturday. Definitely making an effort to show up even if its only for a few minutes.

The maps I looked at, on the other hand feel kind of cramped especially for ffa(I was only using 2 bots to check it out) and with all the explosiveness of the wepmod, I'm predicting there'll be a lot of suciding Laughing
One of the maps I ran around on was extremely broken in terms of negotiating large amounts of people from one spot to another all these odd lifts and weirdness...

Alfie I think I know the maps you mean. There is one that's really much more of a duel map as it's quite cramped but people will just have to more careful with the explosives! As for the lifty map, yeah I know that one too. It can seem a bit weird but it's always played well for me as I recall.

scratch that, got some games in on the euro server, good stuff.

Its a totally different game with lag. The maps weren't really anything to get excited about imo. Decent, just not super-duper exciting.

Lag, bad, yes. Between that and the headache I had last night then I really wasn't faring too well (or having much fun).

This was kinda like playing Heretic what with all those projectiles and lack of hitscan firepower. And most of the maps were definitely better for lower numbers. 4 players would be enough for some of them.

Still, QQs quys!
And if I say there's more Spacepirate coming next week would that be too much of a giveaway? Razz

The server everyone was in was full, when I finally made it in, Zdaemon crashed on me and I gave up. Going camping this weekend...won't make it for ZDS #95... Crying or Very sad
