Right, so the map - well I only took a brief wander so far but it seemed very spread out for a possible duel. Also it was odd how you had all those saws about.

B-b-bump!

Hey so I just got around to playing this on a server last night.

...well I say 'properly' but there's still one thing I'm mighty confused by in it. The saws. Why are they both where they are? I was thinking the same as Stealth , that they should have been replaced by railguns. The map makes much more sense that way and that is how I played it - ran it over the top of ZDECTF.

Yeah, nice map for the most part. Visually then you messed up the colour of the tops of some crates. The BFG that's on the pillar is awkward online as you set it to move at an odd speed, not a map breaker though. I didn't like the point where the outside leads into the room with the SG, CG, RL and armor as it's a very blind turn and ripe for spammery. The map is a bit expansive for 1on1 but is still playable - I think it'd be much more interesting for some TDM though.

As far as gameplay goes, I have to say I'm not very impressed.
It's big, weapons are easy to access and there's only one way in and one way out. This typically doesn't work out very well for duel maps, especially given the size of it, not to mention the inconsistent weapon balance.

As Cybie said, I could certainly see this as a TDM. I think it'd actually do better as a modified CTF map if you took the time to add a little more onto it. I won't mention the chainsaws placement as it's already been addressed. However, I don't like the fact that you have 2 BFGs in the map. You really do away with an area of control or a point worth controlling since spawns aren't mapped out very well. It would just turn into a bfg duel, which isn't bad but isn't good as you want to encourage weapon balance.

The texturing was average. You did some nice things with the pipes and ceiling in the hallway that leads outside, but it was very tasteless. Just grey textures with some tekwalls here and there, nothing special. I wouldn't mind it so much if it had stellar gameplay, but that's the problem: it doesn't.

Sorry to be such a downer, there's nothing wrong with the way it's built fundamentally. It's just not very impressive and shows inexperience on the competitive level. Just take some of this in and perhaps you could revise it and make it worth playing in duel.

Overall, I'll give it a 4/10
