On Behalf Of Hatred:
Hatred wrote: | As many of you have heard, Houston and Galveston, Texas were hit by a Category 1 and 2 Hurricane. Fortunately, the storm dropped down to a tropical storm within hours of it's impact, but many people are still missing and without power as well.
This one hits home with me as two of my members (Crescent and Pulsar) live in the Houston/Galveston Area and I've only heard from one of them. Another friend that's infamous amongst this community, Gluttony or Goofyrat69, is someone I haven't heard from or been able to get into contact with.
So I'd simply like to take this time to wish everyone else who I may not have mentioned as well as those directly affected by this hurricane to wish you the best and know that our prayers are with you. I'd also like to thank Denny for posting this for me. That will be all. Once again, best of luck.
P.S Please don't turn this into a debate. It's simple, just leave your comments of encouragement and/or stories of success here. Thanks. |
My thoughts go out to all those that got hit by the hurricane. Wish you all are safe and recover quickly |

I don't feel sorry for people who didn't pay attention to the mandatory evacuations right in its path and didn't leave. |

When I was in Hurricane Charlie in NC I was outside on a golf course watching the demolition of lots of very nice homes. I also decided to go out in the water.
Hey, it was only a cat 2. It was actually kind of fun when your in a wide open space like a golf course in a hurricane. Just get to roll around in the awesome wind. |

I'm on a well, so I need electricity to take a shower.
I do live in Ohio. The remnants of Ike cut almost 1.5 million people off of power in my area. I had no power for about 4 and a half days. |

I second what the O.P. said. Best of luck, hope this doesn't turn out like another Katrina. |

I just got power back today, my attic fan blew off so the entryway of my house was a bit flooded. It was actually a Cat 3, winds of 114-116 and gusts up to 139
According to the news, my county got extremely lucky, we were hit hard by the front end, but when the eye came over us I guess it turned and the back missed us.
Best of luck to those who are off much worse than me |

I agree, unless they have no means to leave. Like alot of the population of New Orleans during Katrina, couldn't just pack up the Range Rover and head north to a hotel, you know? So they relied on busses, which didn't work out too well at all. But yea, if you're just like making a conscious decision to stay in the path of a hurricane, that's pretty damn stupid. Of course I'd feel bad for anyone that died or was injured, but it's pretty damn stupid. |

GL Killemall man and as well as the others who have been affected. I've only felt a small dosage of what these natural disasters have caused so many others. I remember Hurricane Andrew almost as if it were yesterday.
