you seen "for a few dollars more"? it has the same actors and its got a neat story, clint eastwood is awesome |
Oh yeah definitely, i own the whole Sergio Leone box set. I gotta say though, spaghetti westerns are probably my favourite genre of movies. They're nothing like those shitty hollywood westerns that were spewed out in the 40s to 50s. Right after TGBU my favourite spaghetti western has to be The Great Silence and since it's public domain it can be seen here : http://tinyurl.com/5ebcx4

Amazing film, coincidently(you probably already know this) Fistful of Dollars was a remake of Yojimbo, but i dig Yojimbo more. |

agreed. recently, i rewatched High Noon, which isn't a john wayne cliche-fest and i held it high in my memories, but i found it still lacking. it misses the hard edge :)
on the other hand, have you seen The Big Country? it still falls into 50s, but is unlike anything i've seen. it's pretty calm and more realistic with the gun handling i guess, but i consider it one of the best in the genre, up there with leone's flicks, Unforgiven or Wild Bunch :) |

Excellent film, i like how it all takes place in a time span of an hour(or was it 2) that theme song was actually fairly catchy too.

The Big country was on TCM a couple days ago, didn't catch it though. I guess i'll have to add it to my HUGE recommendation list. Unforgiven is another spectacular flick. Have yet to see the Wild Bunch but it's really high on my must see list that's for sure. Have you seen Sam Peckingpahs other flicks, like Straw Dogs and Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia? |

To be honest, I'm not too much of a movie person.
The Doom movie owned. Hands down. And if you disagree, let's have a "fistfight mothafucka!"
Seriously I thought it was funny, even though that's now how it should have been. Of course the Rock ALWAYS starts out as the main "good" guy that is super strong and the role model for everyone else but slowly morphs into an evil dude and fights the real protaganist and loses and dies in a fiery explosion. Strangely enough, that's very close to how Get Smart turned out. Also a good movie!
But if I had to pick an absolute favorite movie, I'd say Tomorrow Never Dies. Awesome action, good plot, and on top of that, very funny! They'll print anything these days...
Probably my favorite serious film is Apollo 13. It was a true story, after all. Plus Tom Hanks has always been an excellent actor. Also liked Saving Private Ryan and Forrest Gump.

If I had to narrow it down to just one then Schindler's List would probably make that top spot
..closely followed by American Beauty and American Psycho (though personally I found the book to be better). |

yes, i knew that, making yojimbo into a western cut out some good parts, but fistful of dollars is still a good movie. Kurosawa and Mifune are great, if you like yojimbo, try out "sanjuro", which is also great
did you know "the magnificent seven" is also based on a samurai movie?
on a side note who made fistful of doom? its a great wad and it would be good to see some more levels |

I like the Boondock Saints also.
here's a list of my favorite movies in no specific order
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Goodfellas
The Godfather 1
The Godfather 2
Casino
The Departed
So basically anything by Martin Scorsese, and Quentin.
I guess there's a pattern there... |

At the risk of sounding snob...
Citizen Kane
The Rope (not sure if its the english name for it)
Cinema Paradiso
Brazil (really weird... but i like it anyways "Are you in a mood for a bit of necrophilia?" )
The original version of Vanilla Sky, Abre los Ojos...
And, lately,
Muertos de la risa (Dying of Laughter), from Alex de la Inglesia, and
Old Boy... what an amazing story....! |

I'm not a fan of Citizen Kane myself and i'm a pretty big movie buff. I can respect the technical merits of the film but other then that i didn't like it. Brazil is great but not even close to being the weirdest film out there, that title would have to go to either El Topo or Zardoz. Oldboy is amazing have you seen Chan-wook Parks other revenge films? Those are just as good as Oldboy. The rest of the films you listed i have yet to see but they're on my hugeee recommendation list. |

It's a tough choice. I can narrow it down to my top 3; Mother, which I'm sure very few people have heard of, American Beauty, (which is getting some mentions I see!), and My Cousin Vinny. |
