I'm going to make life easy for a lot of people. This is a list of current projects where any mappers is allowed to submit maps to. Feel free to check around and see if any project interests you in submitting a map to.
DM
1on1 basemapping contest - Take a layout that contains items only and turn it into a real map!
CTF
3 Way CTF - Capture The Flag but with 3 bases
Heretic CTF - it's like CTF but for Heretic n'stuff
Zdaemon Collab CTF Revisited - Each mapper works on a different section of a map (Highly reccomended for new mappers!) - DEFUNCT -
COOP/SURVIVAL
Necromantic Thirst - A very well designed set of SP/coop maps
Zombie Invasion - Andyman3k's survival project, which is looking very promising
New Doom1 megawad - What it says. Got no takers here but I believe it's doing well over on DoomWorld.
OTHER
Deathball - Basically soccer with guns, very fun stuff
Kill The Cyberdemon - There is a Cyberdemon in each base, the first team to kill the opponents Cyberdemon wins
PSP Single Player - Doom Maps but for PSP - DEFUNCT -
N00b Onslaught - The Onslaught mode in the UT series but for Zdaemon
Defiance - A lot of different team-based game modes piled onto one wad - DEFUNCT(?) -
Capture Teh Keyz (working title) - Objective is to pick up all keys on a map to score a point.
This is just a little topic to help people who are interested in mapping with a place to look for projects that can be contributed to. If you are one of the heads of one of these projects and you would like it removed or you have one to add, let me know.

Might be worthy to state a short description of each project so that interest sparks from the whole idea.
Although... you do have links to the project threads. Is that enough?

I would but it would be kinda weird to bring back a 2 year old project nobody has said anything about (Though I would like to bring back the idea of it) |

Actually it's focused mainly on Single Player, then Coop. In terms of item / monster placement and traps, there's a major difference between this kind of wad and wads designed only for Coop, like Invasion UAC or Drown in Blood. :> |

Quik you may have noticed all sorts of current projects that are not listed - this thread is for people to be able to easily see those which are open to the community to contribute to. |

Does anybody pay attention to this anymore? If so, add my zombie invasion to the list. |

Yeah I'd like to think they do! And thanks for the bump, gave me chance to tidy up the info a bit. Some of those projects have seriously dropped off the radar though, so they may still need removing... |
