May I make a suggestion that the Session is decided earlier than Thursday? Due to work constraints I am not able to get online on Thursday, which leaves me very little time to get a ZDS server running. I had a script to start up the server automatically, 10 minutes before it was due to start, however due to the lack of a config file it obviously didn't run. There is also no-one else that knows how to launch servers yet, leaving everyone to rely on me getting [THE] servers running smoothly. Just a thought |

StealthCP: I apologize, I will absolutely be getting things decided much earlier than Thursday from now on. Especially with the new help we're going to have .
Geit: no, the Iwad does not matter. Suggest anything you like! |

If you are thinking of doing a 1-on-1 ZDS, styxdm01.wad is pretty good. |

i'm more in favour of fresh maps being played from all gamemodes than most people around here but i just can't see that running 1on1s for ZDS would work all that well.
i know when it's big names playing on the more well known maps that they get a crowd of spectators to keep the server active but i'm not sure that'd be the case for a bunch of random matches on unknown maps. so if it did happen then i'd suggest running 3 or 4 servers consecutively.
but we have the tourneys for fresh content in the 1on1 department, ZDS is more about getting lots of folks playing together at once.
(and i got Styx noticed and consequently run in a tourney a few months back btw) |

Odactf is nice, but I'd put up two or even three servers since some of the maps have cramped hallways so I'd make 4 v 4 the max. Deathball would be fun. |

Legendary CTF, made by the RFA. I don't know if it is released to the public, or if they are beta testing, but the maps are huge, interesting. |

Disagree. The last time a CTF map made by an RFA member was played (last night, in fact; one of the ZHPCTF levels) it made people consider disconnecting. Hugeness is one of the excuses hermits use for not running zdctfmp3. It's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but too much complexity and too much running distance to get one's flag back removes the dogfighting and the struggles, and runs the risk of completely diluting the player density to the point where teamwork no longer exists. I'd be fairly worried, really. |

I agree |
I sense a very strong RFA bias...
It's made mostly by Silvertear and I think Darklinux. The only things I saw was with a full server is the small maps in here is good for spamming but the moderatly big maps are almost ideal for full servers. The last I heard, the maps are going to be made for XPrecision. Anyway, I don't think people would want to play a wad that is unfinished.
I agree with:
Deathball
Assault
UDM(*)
and continue to suggest sniperwars |
