Nice maps, i have some suggestions for you if you want take it in count.

* Map01 is pretty nice Smile
* Map02, you could add some stimpacks or potions on water zone. Maybe delay time for Plasma Gun could be less.
* Map03, nice gravity and Rocket Jumping to get powerups, this is the map that i more liked. You added a soul sphere that is the only way to recover health, what about to add some stimpacks or medipacks on some plataforms?.
* Map04, you could add more health (stimpacks or potions) i only found two medipacks.
* Map05, nice decorate, with a little trap. On the first floor there is only low damage weapons (Shotgun and chaingun), you could move the SSG from the second floor to the first where is the trap button with the chaingun or add another powerfull weapon. I see RL ammo but could not find the RL. Sad

Is a nice WAD, with good detail, items (quantity and position) and flow.
For me, i like this type of maps with almost every sector have health (at least 5%), becuase Doom weapons do a lot of damage and it increases the portunities of get killing sprees.

The DMFLAGS in the text file have item respawn enabled. That means there's quite a lot more health available in actuality. I don't think map03 needs health, the game on there progresses rather slowly as it is already. Map05's design is intentional, makes for a change having to work for a higher powered weapon. The rocket launcher is on a ledge on the south side of the map BTW, with a spawn on it too.

Also remember these maps have been made for 1v1, there are no dm flags to seperate health from ammo, so respawn items is on mainly for rocket ammo, the amount of health in these maps accounts for that.

Ok. Razz but i still want argument my point of view.

For example, in map02 there is only a medipack an stimpack (35%) and there is weapons like SSG and RL that do heavy damage (generally this weapons does more than 50% of damage), a extra health packs can give the player a extra chance from one shot of these weapons.

Is true, respawn items lets have the oportunity of get more health, but you must have much skill to survive meanwhile this respawn and the oponent dont take it.

For me the trick is keep the oponent away from these items when he/she is hurt and take it when is convenient.

Wink Well, but this is your style, and it is a nice work.

Ah, but if there's health in every sector as you would like it, how are you going to do that? Smile

I agree about the map03 thing, but the problem there is that the game progresses a lot slower; you'll be making SSG shots from a distance a lot more so if you were to also pick up health it could take ages to get a single frag. No need for that.

maps like map03 is what we need, because ns tournaments are "ns tournaments".. and ns maps are usually "ns maps"...

map03 really encourages ns gameplay and forces the player to use ns settings if he wants to win...

I think a zdnsmappack should be made.

Fairly good pack. Well chosen textures. I didn't really like map02 and 03, neither the Duke Nukem jump sound, but other than that it seems very playabla. Couldn't test the actual gameplay though.
