Hmm ok split it, one for Euro one for US, 8 players but the tourney set up would be for 16 players to allow you to only lose 2 players per round (the ones with the lowest number of frags). I reckon 2 maps rather than 1 seeing as you FFA players can finish a map in under 2 mins. With just 8 players it would give us a better map selection too, as they have to be good ffa maps AND good 1 v 1 maps for the final round (a couple of maps from Brit or forever for example would be good).

Hmm points or frags? You have 8 players to start with, lose the 2 lowest scored players with either system. With points you would have to start with something like 14 points for 1st place then drop it by 2 points for second and so on, if someone is a no show for whatever reason, they would have to get 0 points, otherwise you would possibly get a no show for the final. Or we could do it by accumulated frags, which would be best do you think?

You could almost play the whole thing in one night, it's only 4 rounds.

[added] actually if it was played in one night, it could be a monthly event rather than a special, it would just require an admin being there to tally scores at the end of each game and say who drops out from each round, and type GO for people to join.

No we can't start sign ups yet, I have a ctf tournament on at the moment as well as the regular tournaments, although Bones might be interested in running a US one. The details for it need to be finalised too, I think I would prefer to have it played in one night seeing as how fast ffa games can be played, but no one else has given me any feed back on that idea. If we had it as a monthly event held on something like the last Sat. in the month, it shouldn't conflict with other tourney practice or Bonzo's ZDS.

Servers would also have to be arranged etc, you can't just jump in and do it otherwise it would fail, it needs a bit more work.
