Decided to take a deeper look into this, found the following.
RandomJump does not show correct state online on the client.
Using RandomJump to alter the frame execution of actors is not shown correctly on the client in online mode. The jump happens, but the change is not visible on the actor for the client.
Example wad: http://destiny-server.no-ip.org/stuff/randomjump.zip
Revenant is extended to choose randomly between two ranged attacks.
Ranged attack 1: the default revenant attack, with default sprites shown.
Ranged attack 2: shows revenant melee attack sprites, while shooting cacodemon's ball.
If you try the wad in singleplayer mode, you can see that it works correctly as per described. If you try it in online mode, the revenant shows its default attack instead of melee attack sprites despite that the jump happened and cacodemon ball was fired. It *looks* as if the execution continued past the RandomJump codepointer without jumping. |
