|
|
I'm making a mod using DeHacked, and there's a problem with item pickups, that works in other ports.
I've replaced the SS guy with a random item pickup, and it works in other ports, but not ZDaemon. The SS guy is replaced with an actor that cylcles between about 30 different sprites every tic (like STIMA0 vs. AMMOA0) to give the player a random item.
Regular Doom behavior bases what item the player gets on what sprite the actor currently displays (STIM give you a stimpack, AMMO gives you an ammo box, SOUL gives you a soulsphere, etc). ZDaemon incorrectly bases the item pickups on what actor is representing the pickup item, rather than what sprite name the actor displays at the time of pickup.
I request that the original, sprite-name-based pickup behavior is restored, or at least some sort of way to activate it in a mod.
My random item pickup depends on this older (and standard) behavior.[/i] |

Whoops, sorry about that. I was extremely tired and sleep deprived when I posted this, and didn't think to check the confirmed bugs forum.
I don't really know how fast the development works around here, how soon can a bug like this be fixed? |

I'm pretty sure that all bugs are fairly unique - ie there are no "bugs like this". Also, there's bound to be other bugs/features which have priority over it.
So - regardless of development speed - it's going to take as long as it takes |

From what I understand, it's very complicated to fix without rewriting the entire item pickup code. I was notified that this has been worked on a bit, but is not yet ready, and it's not of an especially high priority at the moment. |

This behaviour will be possible in 1.10.20 by way of two new dmflags3.
If both new dmflags3 are disabled then the existing behaviour is maintained.
