Insomnia is a mixture of os, ns, duel, and ffa maps that traces its roots all the way back to 2006.The wad underwent sporadic development over the years before ceasing all development in early 2013. The wad was "rebooted" in 2018 and many of the former maps and features were removed in favor of a more minimalistic approach. The maps were created by Madgunner, Collision, and Doomination.
While you are free to play the maps however you feel, we recommend the following settings:
(We also recommend setting sv_aircontrol to 0.25 on all ns maps and the ns maps can be played with or without Zandronum's air
acceleration. We also recommend setting a timelimit of 10-15 minutes for all NS duel maps.)
We designed the maps with the following game modes in mind: (Once again you're free to play them as you choose.)
MAP01: OS FFA
MAP02: OS FFA
MAP03: OS DUEL
MAP04: OS DUEL
MAP05: OS DUEL
MAP06: OS FFA
MAP07: OS DUEL
MAP08: OS DUEL
MAP09: OS FFA
MAP10: OS FFA
On one final note, we are releasing these maps early because Madgunner has severe tennis elbow and will not be able to work on them
again for at least a few months. As such, these maps are not 100% finished and it is possible that some maps in this pack could
undergo minor tweaks and flow adjustments for beta 1. There are also bugs and texture alignment issues on a few maps. Please do
not report them as we are aware of them and ultimately reporting them would be more hurtful than helpful at this time.

I just took a quick spin through.
Downloaded Zandronum version because I'm working on
a Linux machine. Also, I didn't hook up a deathmatch or
anything like that, just single-playered IDCLEV'd through
this.
Anyhow, the old-school maps seem VERY old school, so
much so that a few of them reminded me of work by Toke.
The new-school maps look interesting as hell and when
we get into Winter here, I'm sure I'll twist the arm of my
cross-the-country DooM buddy to deathmatch all of these.

Thank you so much for this review. It means so much to us. Sadly it's been extremely hard to get people to notice these maps due to the fact that the majority of doomers these days are into the single-player maps only. Deathmatch maps unfortunately go relatively unnoticed these days. I'm hoping to get some videos of the maps in action sometime soon, but due to my nagging tennis elbow I'm not able to do very much on the computer right now. I'm also hoping to get some servers up sometime soon too. I am hopeful that in a month or two that I will finally be able to put the finishing touches on these maps, it has been a brutal journey but the last week I finally feel like I'm turning the corner against this condition. Anyways I can't wait to hear what you and your friend think of these maps, and feel free to share any comments whether good or bad, because we want to make these maps as good as possible.

Haha glad you liked my humor. I tried to put all sorts of little gyms in these maps.
Hey guys so we finally had a session of this wad last Saturday on ZDaemon and it went amazingly well, 58 unique people joined and the session lasted for nearly 9 hours and people seem to really enjoy these maps. We will be working on getting a server of these maps up within the next few days and we will be resuming work on the maps in another week or two. If you didn't get a chance to join the zDaemon session and still would like to check these out they will be running yon USDQC Wednesday night DM on the 8th of December on Zandronum. Also we now have a video of the maps in action, unfortunately I can't remember the name of the person who uploaded the video but thank you so much!
