Player Pool (Brackets will follow - seeding will be completely random)
Greetings fellow Doomers!
On behalf of myself and the Multiplayer Doom Federation, I'd like to present to you all our next big event:
Judas July will be a double elimination 1 on 1 tournament throughout the month of July. The games are to be played on the weekends, giving us 8 days out of the month of July of nothing but Judas!
Our goal is to be completed with the tournament by the end of July, so you should expect to play several games each weekend should the sign-up pool be decent in size. That said, we will be very strict about games being played in a timely fashion: meaning that if a player is to not show up for a scheduled map, we will disqualify said player without hesitation. While we want these events to be played out on the weekend, we do understand that schedule conflict is inevitable, and for that reason we are willing to make some exceptions so long as both players scheduled for a match approach a tournament administrator.
Speaking of Admins, who are they? As of right now, the following people will serve as Judas July administrators:
Where can you find us?
We can be located on the Multiplayer Doom Federation Discord:
Additionally, you can sign up in the same server under the channel Judas-July-signups:
We will also be doing shoutcasting when possible, thus it is incredibly important that people adhere to scheduled times not just because of strict time policies for the sake of maintaining a smoothly run event, but additionally because other people's time will be wasted outside of the doom community for streaming purposes. There will be more info on that once the time to play matches has arrived.
Speaking of playing matches, I should mention that the sign-ups close on June, 28th. Our first matches will be set to be played on 4th of July weekend: naturally we understand if people can't make the 4th, but we hope the 5th is doable.
The DMFLags we will be using for the event will be consistent with previous ZDDL events and tournaments:
NS Settings (NS sound curve, two-way wallruns, no-switch-on-pickup, etc) with the exception of jump and freelook.
50 frag limit
No time limit
As of right now, we plan to have servers setup for North America only. If we have enough European sign-ups, I would be more than happy to reach out to contacts to obtain European servers.
We look forward to seeing you guys out there, I really can't wait to get this started.
See ya' all on the field.
