Uh, hey.
I vanished for a few months, simply because I can't start ZD client... at all...
(Actually I can, but the screen is just garbled mess) and nothing helps (windowed or fullscreen or any resolution at all).
And I have zero idea what to do about it (nothing helped huh).
Not even sure what caused it (update or whatever).
Running Win10 64bit, AMD 5700 TX, i7-3770K (latest drivers, even tried reinstall but meh) ...
I am stuck ._.
Any idea how to debug it? |

The i7 should have onboard graphic. Could you please test if the problem also exist if the onboard graphic is used (the AMD graphic is not used).
Does it look like this (with 4:3 resolution and sv_fullscreen 1):

Pic/photo of that 'garbled mess'? Also what have you tried?
Tried unzipping a fresh download of the .7z archive to a folder on the desktop and running from there with default .ini files?
Compatibility settings tested? (Though all should work)
Non-windows services disabled, including anti virus and any other protection type software?
Does it run in safe boot or with non-windows services/programs disabled?
Does this problem happen with any other source port on that machine, can it be pinpointed to specific zdoom builds?
Could it possibly be an conflict with the GPU, or the driver for it that is being used here? The RX 5700 XT is still quite immature and has had a fair few issues mentioned in r/Amd.
That's all I can think of. |
