Hello!
Wondering if larger flats with higher dimensions then 64x64 (64x128 in heretic o.O?) can be done?

Heretic? That is a ping on my radar. I know that Adereth would usually lament about the 64x64 problem when she was working on her Doom TC years ago.

Whops mistake!
Quote:
Heretic features a few 64x65 flats, and Hexen a few 64x128 flats. Those were used to "cheat" with the implementation of scrolling effects. ZDoom does not need the same hacks to make flats scroll properly, and therefore ignores the excess pixels in these flats.

As wiki says ~ who knows how zdaemon handles this and how zdoom handled it in 1.23, yet these are still quite small and unusable pff...
Just reguest to the future ^_^

An update from from 5.9.2016

I tried to do this.

1) The hexen flat with dimensions 64x128 is stored in RAW format which is obvious default doom format for flats.

I couldn't get my own textures into WAD due any editor i tried to use failed to properly convert it from png. XWE failed aswell Slade3. I however succeeded with SlumpEd3 that bery properly converted the flat resulting into
64x128 (8.00 Kb) raw flat file

2) It was worthless work because ZDaemon aswell as zdoom never-ever reads more then 4.00Kb's aka 64x64 flat.

You can see the result of my attempt here.
