Happy Birthday, DOOM!!!!!! 
Can you believe that this awesome game has been around for 20 years now? What is your favorite memory?
Mine has to be discovering online DOOM and wasting away my college years with my buddies, playing ZD until the wee hours of the morning. |

Anyway, happy birthday Doom indeed! My favourite memories come from playing Zdaemon back in 2005-2008. In that period, I had a lot of time for playing and mapping and being a real active part of this community, which is about my favourite game of all time: Doom.

There was a 20th anniversary event hosted in Belfast here, unfortunately I did not attend (they ran Skulltag anyway, and played a NS selection more Quake than Doom so was not interested generally)
Did anyone else have any fun Doom times in their local area? |

| Lots of great times.. my favorite memory was discovering DM, over modem to modem, then over BBS and proprietary protocol/modem servers like DWANGO and ACPiDOOM. Setting up an IPX network to play. Then writing the first version of Doom to play over the internet using TCP/IP outside of Unix (for Win95) which received reasonably wide acclaim.. then of course discovering ZDaemon (after meeting Toke and others years previous on DoomServ). |
