Scenario: you're watching memfis/anima taming double damage demons at a speedrunner's pace, or perhaps you're watching JCD and [XXX]error blast through doom2, nightmare skill (no biggie). You're laying back with some cheesy poofs, watching the show - then suddenly the guy you are viewing dies and you are left staring at some wall or empty room.

Idea: In 3 to 5 seconds the view automatically switches to the next player still alive, with highest killcount. A counter appears to inform you of the change. The change can be prevented by manually changing views, or moving around while free.

Not a bad idea. It's quite annoying sometimes.

yo Evo, not a bad idea at all!
I think many Survival players also enjoy to spectate other players while they are waiting for a new round (like watching TV).
Maybe the function could be easier: When you lost your last life you can fly around (like old behaviour, nothing new). But if you start to spectate a player and that player lost his last life (or quits), it switches automatically to the "best" player. The "best player" function is already there, it is the player on top of the scoreboard.

Edit:
If a player exits, Intermission will be shown (normal behaviour). If you were out of lives and spectate a player before Intermission (see above), then you spectate that player again. If that player is out of lives (or quits), you spectate the "best player".

Not a bad idea.

Agreed about the first part of Krawa's idea (and not only for survival). Not the second though.

Quote:
35. When you spectate on someone who disconnects or becomes a spectator,
the client automatically switches view to another, randomly selected
player. If no suitable candidate exists, then it switches to your
own view.
