I'm not sure I get most of the complaints about these maps. What coop maps don't boil down to hit the switch, find the key, open the door?

yeah, those are valid gameplay mechanics used in doom maps. but you centered your maps solely around them and it's overdone by way too much. -worlds make eternall look like scythe or revolution with the switch/key hunting routine and nearly harmless monster encounters. it's a maze gimmick with a sidedish of trolls shooting people into lava, that gets old even during the first map a person stumbles into. and the platforming is kinda trivial for anyone who mastered sr40.

examples of coop wads with platforming... that's quite a tough one, because the majority of doom mappers limit themselves to vanilla-like design, so jumping isn't planned for. timeofdeath's zdoom wads have a lot of platforming or even required (simple) rjumping, but they're all heavy on slaughter and you'd probably cry about that. there's an upcoming project by thevarian that will be centered about arcade-style platforming, but also heavy slaughter (and it's intended for another port anyways). or just play void for zdoom.

Yes but Dirty Water won't quench thirst and this community is thirsty for good maps!

Bad analogy FTW!

No offense Flunky, but if I had a photo that looked like that, the last thing I would be doing is using it as a forum avatar.

I don't mind slaughter, as long as there's lots of platforming too! Which of TimeOfDeath's wads should I play? I looked them up, but there's a bunch.

I just played through Void the other day, and thought it was great! I wish ZDaemon was capable of as much as zdoom. Unfortunately, Void's only sinlgeplayer Sad

I tried jumpmaze too, but I'm not really a fan of maps designed JUST for platforming or racing. I like to feel like I'm actually in SOME KINDA WORLD. Also you have to use shitty Skulltag to play it.

For all the whining about how unoriginal the Worlds wads are, I'm having a tough time finding wads like them that work on zdaemon.

Hopefully Waterworld will be out soon!

i suggest Loink, that's the biggest, most complex one and actually playable for human beings. his other zdoom maps (flanagan, smedley, squane) are less about platforming/rjumping and more about ridiculous slaughter. and i mean really ridiculous.

Did you mean September 10th or the 9th of October? I just looked at a calendar and saw that September 10th was a Saturday, so you must mean the 9th of October. To avoid such confusion in an international forum like this, you should spell out the month, or at least an abbreviation, like 9 Oct.

International standart is DD.MM.YY. But, as you clearly proved what US people have no problems to decypher an international standart with help of external tools, does its really a problem? Especially taking a real subject of this topic/!\

In Taiwan,we use "YYYY-MM-DD"

Your teacher was wrong: US uses MM-DD-YYYY, most of Europe uses DD-MM-YYYY (or DD.MM.YYYY). Since this has become such a frigging mess, it's best to use the ISO standard (YYYY-MM-DD) to avoid questions like "is that the 9th of October or the 10th of September?". Furthermore the ISO standard is more logical (most significant numbers/digits first as is the norm with all numbers) and sorts alphabetically correctly.

Oh,I see.

My English teacher teaches us :

1999/09/21 (YYYY-MM-DD)

In English, we need to speak "September twenty first,1999" = 09/21/1999

Now I know it's only in U.S, not Euro.

Thank you for replying, Kilgore Smile
