This is purely awesome.

At first, upon reading such an announcement, I was so shocked (and excited) by the surrealism of the moment i found myself in, I unwittingly contemplated the nature of existence. Ultimately, this led to me outwardly postulating the theoretical conception of the Matrix plot, in a series of intense, exasperated monologues.

Okay, so that never happened. However, I wanted to portray how significant I feel this release will be to the community.

Excellent work to those involved. New website, new release, new tournies, new admins. All of which just adds to why ZDaemon was and still is the greatest doom port of them all Cool

Im away this weekend so I'm excited to get home and try some of the features out.

My [XXX] servers (85.214.149.120) are updated to 1.09 beta 21. The beta server binaries will no be public. So just let me know, if you have a wad which should be tested with 1.09 beta.

at least everyone knows now why the release took so long ... we had to time it properly as you can see Wink

and yeah. DUI NJ, L@P and XXX are running 109 servers. should be more than enough for now Wink

important point for people that have problems with the new fonts:
make sure you have "options->display options->messages->scale text in high res" disabled (con_scaletext)!!!

Interesting release. I'm very much pleased at vast improvements in the clientside synchronization regarding movement and visual prediction on players. Don't have to aim all weird, anymore. Took like what, 6 years, but it's been done. Wink

I noticed there was a lot less weapon desyncing, as well. Good stuff. I personally reverted most of the fonts back to default but it's nice you guys have that option in there.

PIP is also really cool! Hope to mess with the more advanced options later.

I'm on holiday at the moment, shame I wanted to test this right away :p. Anyway thank you to the Dev team, and everyone involved for getting this new release out to the public. I really hope this will give this community a much needed new lease of life, and maybe bring some of the old players back out of inactivity.

And now for my question, I guess.

Is there any way for me to get zserv 1.08.08c, or is this only for people that actually host dedicated servers, rather than home servers? Decided to launch my AV game back up and it shows up as 1.08.08.

GhostlyDeath: insufficient spawn spots has never been a problem in DM (ie., you telefrag them); it has also been resolved in coop too in one of the 1.08.xx releases some years ago (you try harder to find a free spawn spot).

sonicdoommario: are you sure you're talking about 10808c? if so, you'll find zserv32.exe in the VER_10800 directory. If you meant 109 zserv32, you'll have to wait until the netcode is finalized..
