In ZDaemon, when you die, the camera is switched to a 3rd person view of your body. In vanilla Doom, the camera did not switch perspectives (as it does in zdaemon) and it additionally followed your killer (be it monster or other player). This was an odd feature, but it was part of the game. From the time you died to the time you spawned, the relative position of your killer was known.
In order to restore more of the classic competitive play (and atmosphere) of the original game, I want to suggest adding another OS flag to restore this behavior. This is something that has been largely forgotten about, but from what opinions I've gathered from other competitive players, this would be a nice option to revisit. We're getting really close to fully emulating oldschool gameplay, so I say we keep going with it! |

Code: | Implemented a "Classic Death Camera" mode; this lowers the player
view to the floor and rotates the view towards the killer (human or
monster). It's enabled via a server dmflag (DF_OS_DEATH = 0x10000000).

This also would be very interesting in 1v1 matchs, sometimes you never see where the person is when they kill you, could change alot of matchs |
