Nah, we're going to have a load of fun this week! I’ve got two independent projects for Doom replacing episodes one and two. Playing them separately would be fine, but it has to be twice as cool if we mush them together to extend our evening’s playing time! Episode one is titled “The Dead Lives” and the second is “Planet Hell”. Our very own Tuomio is the author of the first episode! You didn't know we have a celebrity in our midst, now did you!?
Both of these level packs were released in 2009 and emulate a lot of the classic gameplay elements from Doom (the original). Add in some music remixes and a special little wad to celebrate the Valentine’s season and it’s sure to be… well, festive, at least.
Now... In this thread we hype #128 and point out any wrong settings I've enabled!

Ehehe. So you can count me off this one, unless someone brutally drags me in there or bribes me.

I just short from NEVER understood WHAT exactly it is that keeps CooP being despised by so many Lost Souls ... for me, this game mode is just one of the very pillars of UAC heaven.
Well, be that as it may, let´s have some great advertising and an even greater session for ZDS #128
Also, I wanted to address the minor matter of some poem that I wrote a little while ago, and which has absolutely nothing to do with ZDS, this thread or DooM at all - no, wait, it IS about DooM - but I just can´t overcome the temptation of rubbing all of yer noses in it ...
*ahem*
Experiments on distant Worlds / By Hand of Man gone wrong
Unleashed have been the Hordes of Hell / By Force Ten Thousands strong
But brave a Soul took up the Fight / With Weapons by the Score
He fought the Demons Day and Night / KNEE-DEEP in Blood and Gore.
---------------
Applause in my general direction, plz, and NO, I won´t make you a baby.

Europe session went well but really quieted down at the end. Geit, Nimbus, and I finished it off for good! The global message was pretty tight. Let's hope for even better success on the American side. |

The Dead Lives is a good choice. I'm sure everyone who played enjoyed that episode. I'm not familiar with Planet Hell, so I should check this out sometime. |

The US sesh finished a single rotation lickety split in a little over sixty minutes (compare that to Europe's time of two hours) . With eight players in the maps most of the time, the space marines plowed through the opposition. It also didn't help that some of the episode two maps were rather short for cooperative play and the DMFlags on Death's server made things too easy for a while.
The Dead Lives was consistently good the whole way through. Planet Hell was a bit miss and hit at times (although e2m7 was very charming with it's structure very similar to Doom's Mt. Erebus on e3m6).
Well, that weekend hit the spot for me in the "classic Dooming" department. Shame Tuomio couldn't make an appearance. |

Yeah that was a fun sesh in places, but E2 was entirely unsuited for co-op here. Hell, I don't think it would even make a great SP for people who like to speedrun maps. The Dead Lives was a fun revisit, and hearts definitely kept everyone entertained |
