This is my first decent deathmatch wad for doom2. All constructive criticism is appreciated.

The map looks handsome. The way that you made the SSG a bit difficult to get at makes for some more varied gameplay. I'm not sure but the BFG might be a little too lethal for this map. A plasma rifle might work a little better instead of the big gun. |

I first thought this map was a little too sprawling, but it flows well, and once you know the map, its really a good size. The barrels in the hall and staircase are strange, don't know how well that will go over. The invisible sphere and bfg together might pose a very lethal combo in a 1on1 and generally in serious 1on1s its not accepted to have any sorts of powerups which are aquired by fairly basic means. If its geared toward FFA more than 1on1 deathmatch, then the bfg will definitely be the dominator as it is in a good camping spot, and you get invisiblity I'm not specifically saying to take the sphere out, but you could possibly create an anti-camp mechanism for up by the bfg. (eg: lava, scrolling sector, jumppad, a teleporter that lets you only take either the sphere or bfg putting you to the large rocket area.)
The theme doesn't feel too tired, and really on the whole is clean and nice. Generally, I don't see too much wrong with this map, I'd go back and put more maps into the wad and create an FFA pack, however. |

Thanks for bumping this Cupboard, I'd already forgotten that I was going to post some comments
It's quite well realised with decent enough lighting, texturing and dimensions. There's nothing broken in there either, with all the doors, lifts and teleports working as intended. And is that a hint of E1 at the lift area?
I wouldn't say this map would perform well for 1on1. You've gone a little over the top with the number of doors for such a small map and yes, as Cupboard says then the BFG is overkill on its own, let alone with that sphere up there. You also went far too crazy with the health pickups which would work better if there were less and they were centralised in certain areas rather than being placed like Pacman's dots.
But I have no idea if 1on1 was something you intended for it? Also it'd be good to know if you imagined respawning items was a good idea here? Those barrels and that sphere would become very tiresome if so. |

This was intended as a 4 player deathmatch wad. Not just a plain old 1on1 map. I knew that if there were 4 players it would be nearly impossible to get the bfg. (since everyone would try to get it) The invisibility helps you keep the bfg for atleast 2 shots, usually when you get the bfg you barely get to keep it any longer than 10 seconds before someone kills you. The next weapon that is usually abused is the ssg. which is why its a bit harder to get.
All the weapons even out in this
I've made 3 new maps for this wad

I'll update the first post too.
I didn't really intend this as e1.. Its designed to resemble the early doom2 maps. |

Well thats a really good start man. I like your towers and stuff.
The latter layouts don't seem as thought out as the first however, I only took a quick look, but there was a lot of flat ground and large hall-like areas. I guess thats great for ffa though. |

Good stuff Sniper!
Heh, I looked at the first 3 maps and was just going to say that you needed to break up the looks a bit. I mean not go crazy with custom textures but just not have every map be all grey and brown. And then I hit map04 ! |

nice flowing wad, the doors can be a bit confusing sometimes, but gameplay is really nice on here. I agree with the comments of the healthpacks but i find that the bfg works well here too, many places you can dodge it and if you plan out your game you can do very well in making sure others dont pick it up. I hope it wont turn into a FFA wad because it will get spammed and that would be disappointing. Congratz on a nice new level to play. |

I agree with WeaponX on every point. Some maps are better than others imo but on the whole it's a nice wad, good looking, well thought out. |
