The standard order of things seems to have well and truly gone out the window! I have no clue anymore which gamemode should be which week!
Actually that's all lies. Things have just gotten bumped around a bit with Spacepirate's 3way last week and a special request we have for next week's.

So for now it's back to that most neglected of gamemodes - TeamDM! It's been passed over far too many times recently but the time is right once again. I've gotta say that I played some sick 4way TDM on L@P last night (at Baah's suggestion). Some of the maps were more insane than any Brit10 but others were much more thoughtful. Either way it was a total actionfest. I think Dark_Odyssey commented that it was possibly the first time he'd ever seen the white team in action ...which'd be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

It was Mr Cheater who requested Cybercrime3 which I wasn't initially impressed with as you didn't used to have to go far to find a game there. These days it's really dropped off the radar once again and as Nero suggested TDM on it then we have two legit reasons to run it.

I don't think the maps are the greatest. Sure they're seriously inspired visually but half of the layouts are totally uninteresting. Still, they all give good game and TDM should be real interesting. In fact TUD did run this almost exactly the same way when he was doing ZDS - but that was like 3 years ago so I don't think we're being too repetative Razz

    Game Mode: TDM
    WADs: Cybercrime3
    STskins1a
8bitvox1a Wish Jad would update this vox but until then we'll just have to turn that announcer volume up!

    Maps: 10 (01-10)
    DMFLAGS: 283844 / 168951808
Players: 16 (max players per team 4, not autobalancing)
    Teams: 4
    Timelimit: 8
    Skill: 4 - Nightmare
Teamscorelimit: 50 That's teamscore, not fraglimit!
    No team damage!

    Date: Saturday 4th July 2009
Time: 7:30pm UK Time / 9:00 pm EST
    Locations: L@P/XXX / Unfy/NODE-3/3-BET

I'd have said 4teams could be unwieldy or problematic but after playing it last night then I think we should be ok. So bring it on for 4on4on4on4 on the 4th!

Monster? Surprised

Like I say, the maps all play well but they could have been so much better. Versions 1 and 2 of Cybercrime have a much more vertical map in there but 3.0 has no lifts, doors and just one sneaky teleport - things that almost every other WAD uses.

Someday I'd like to make some maps that use the existing resources but which really rock.

Yeah I dug up the old thread to check. Don't think this got a US session back then though, right?

And bleh, slow week here again? Thought we might have generated a bit more excitement than this. I can understand if all the Yanks are gonna be out at firework shows n'that but what of the rest of the world? WHERE IS THE ZDSLOVE? Let's have some Cybersex over Cybercrime here!

Fireworks are illegal in my town so I'm doing nothing for July 4th

Roman candles are about the most extreme display you can get in Michigan without breaking any laws. Razz Oh and sparklers too.

Organized events have a lot more breathing room though.

PS I'm ready for some organized crime tomorrow. Cybercrime, that is.

So, This morning I logged on to see a US server full. (Node-3)?

I joined the Unfy server and after around 20 minutes I had about three people connected.

All was good, until I changed my skin and reconnected. I couldn't join, the player limit had been reached. (4) D:

Oh well, I joined the XXX server and noone joined. Sad

I had some fun though! It just didn't go as well as I could have hoped. Smile

I cracked the window open so as to listen to the fireworks while we played. The server filled up really fast and we were playing good games right away. Sometimes it feels like we're milling around for thirty minutes until more people join. One thing about Cybercrime is that the maps feel too open in select areas.

This was a great ZDS. As soon as people initially went into the US server, it was full after 4 minutes!

As for the game mode, it didn't really feel as if I was playing TDM so much as I was FFA. Well, that's what you get when you include 4 teams in a wad like Cybercrime3.

Still, great games, everyone.

Yeah that was why I didn't think teamdamage would be such a hot idea Laughing

I guess I made a bit of a boo-boo with the skins as they're quite dark and some of them are really hard to judge what the base colour is. Between that and the colured lighting in CC then it was hard work.
Hmm, y'know I think I just might just fix up that particular skin pack, as other than being too dark it's one of the most sensible packs out there (ie it doesn't contain monsters, lemmings or other stupid shit).
And Jad PLEASE fix up 8bitvox too!

Augh! He got the team number wrong and I'd fixed it by rcon but I didn't notice that was screwed too Sad

LOL certainly didn't have that problem last night. Fuck, we'd done the whole rotation of 10 maps in 30 minutes!

After just over an hour (two rotations) I called it a day. Had some great games there!
Of course an hour is a bit short for a ZDS so a bunch of us carried on the party on Spacepirate's 3wayCTF Very Happy
