Nice to see, but sadly, I never had faith in it being released anytime soon 8 years ago. |

It'll be delayed again because they'll want to use the new Doom4 engine D: |

I think Flash is big enough now to not shun it. Youtube uses it, as do many other websites that use Flash. It's quite a big deal you know, not some crappy little plugin to view videos on one site
On topic, it'll be interesting to see how it looks when it finally comes out. Are we palcing bets for which comes first: .09 or dnf? |

I believe i read somewhere on the 3DRealms forums that the developers have the game near Alpha stage.
Looking at the ingame footage thats not hard to believe and i do have to admit that it looks awesome.
Sure it was fun to mock 3DRealms at the fact that Duke Nukem Forever was actually going to take forever.
But do any of you guys actually know how long it took to release Prey?
Prey was actually already in alpha stage on the same Build engine that Duke nukem 3D used. They moved to a whole new engine which basically meant redoing everything from scratch except for the storyline and maybe the voice acting.
The same has happened to Duke Nukem Forever. Over the years they have moved to a different engine and had some entire rewrites of their coding. (Especially because new features got released over time and they wanted to keep up with the competition).
Basically every big game goes through this phase where you have to make crucial decisions wether to put an outdated engine to tremendously good use or do an entire rewrite.
I'm sure that in a year from now, we are going to hear more stuff about Duke nukem Forever and once it finally gets reviewed the conclusions will come near the fact that 12 years have been worth the wait. |

I think it'd be cool if they were both released on the same day.
It hasn't quite been 12 years, if you count Duke Nukem: The Manhattan Project which came out in 2002.
It's true that DNF will be the first Duke game in 12 yrs developed by 3D-Realms, since the Manhattan Project was developed by Arush Entertainment who went bust a few years ago.
As Da_Maniac said, I agree that it will be worth the wait. |

funnily enough, the day i started working at 2K , someone asked if there was an alpha of Prey 2, Bioshock 2, and DNF and if they could work on those projects.
I lol'd because Prey 2 isn't even being scripted yet, Bioshock 2 isn't even pre alpha, and DNF is 3d realms, but because Prey was suppose to be DNF at some point, they assumed 2K is doing the development. MAYBE the publishing, but not the dev. |
