I played Quake 1, 2 and 3 Arena

Quake 1 and 2 seemed kind of crazy gothic compared to doom

Quake 3 Arena was kick ass on single player, goes up against unreal tournament and other online fps, the only thing I didn't like about it online was all the bunny hopping, that was so friggin' annoying

I play quake in singleplayer time to time... (Trent Reznor music <3)
I haven't liked the second (where is the nightmare skill ? D:) but the third was nice (especially for the design which was brilliant imo).
Not played the fourth yet.

I play quake in single sometimes too and love the soundtrack. The most perfect game music ever.

sad that qw multiplayers dying
some of the best players ive ever seen in fps gaming are quakeworld players, just for the gameplay and the speed and the instant weapon switching and bunnyhopping

much like doom the gameplays really evolved over time

i played it exclusively for bout a year and needed a break from it

Aye, it is sad. The North American QW community is virtually dead now. It was great fun for a long time. I was happy to be an active QWer for a long time. When QW started to slow down I started to play ZD instead.

Yeh I used to play Quake 1 online often, great game. Quake 2 is great as well, especially the single player missions.

Quake 3 never sat with me right, it was very good, but I jsut never took to it.

Quake 4 is a fun singleplayer game.

But seriously guys, Quake wars would certainly be a contender for best online fps game ever. It's way better than enemy territory and pretty much anything else online (although I admit I haven't played Team Fortress 2 which I hear is fantastic).

ZD and ST are my fav's still to play online, but really Quake wars is exceptional.
