Hendrix, the double album "Electric Ladyland" ("All Along The Watchtower") and of course Led Zeppelin... "Whole Lotta Love".
I bought a Les Paul back in 1971, and I still have that guitar to this very day, although my repertoire would be considered dated to some of you young puppies.

my descent into obscurity and weirdness started with nick cave & the bad seeds, murder ballads right after release in '96. the first 'heavier' sound was anathema - a fine day to exit /which is quite soft :)/

If any of my friends start talking about rap music while I'm driving I kick them out of the car. Same for guitar hero. I dont know why I hate both with a passion only paralleled by commercialism and team games at laser Quest, I think there is a deeper meaning for my hatred of music. Does anybody know any psychologists

Well, I dont have a problem with oldschool rap, In fact I love it. Now guitar hero is just retarded, I dont see why people love that game so much, Id much rather play a real guitar over that shitty guitar hero one. Its alot easier to learn the songs on a real guitar 0_0.

Its that game that creates illisions in all who plays it mind thus discouraging them more when they get a real guitar. Guitar hero is screwing the already messed-up music industry.

I've always had a passion for music and playing a real guitar; however I don't see why so much hate against Guitar Hero. People look at it too deeply it seems and are like "play a real guitar" or something to that nature... Well, that's kind of a dumb comparison. Let's go shoot real guns instead of playing Doom Laughing .... People like the competition of the game and there is a huuuuge difference in between pressing 5 buttons for a song and playing 6 strings with 24 frets.... I enjoy jamming/playing on a real guitar and I enjoy playing guitar hero... It's fun to sit back and play some good rock songs (especially with guitar hero III having the actual singers on most songs) .... That's my opinion on it. Poof.

Well I'd have to say playing a real guitar or learning how to play a real guitar is much more challenging then learning how to press 5 buttons, I'm sure someone can get good at guitar hero in less then a week, it took me a few years to get where Im at now and Im still not as good as I can be.

My dad had a radio in our garage that was always on, even if we weren't in the garage. It was always on a local classic rock station that played 24/7, no commercials. (Pre-sattellite radio, lol) So I just listened to all the bitchin' 60's-80's bands and it went from there.

Lets see..since birth, my dad had been playing me AC/DC...at home..in the car, and every other possible place. I remember when he first gave me Back in Black, I was so hooked. I got my hands on everything AC/DC I could find. For my birthday one year, I got a signed Highway to Hell album off ebay that included my idol Bon Scott's signature.

I moved out from there. The Beatles, Aerosmith (who were my first concert as well), Queen, Nirvana, and more recently Alice in Chains and Van Halen etc. I pretty much have the same taste for music as my dad does.

Oh yeah, you didn't think I could forget Led Zeppelin! Zeppelin and AC/DC are the reason I look like this. It sounds a bit weird, but their music has changed my life and has inspired me to pursue life in the same direction.
