damn i only just saw this and hoped someone had already posted about it over here...

after the success of the previous 32in24 speedmap extravaganzas here's the latest:
http://www.doomworld.com/vb/wads-mods/41358-32in24-five-9-16-07/

i contributed to the last one so it's clearly quite open to all. it was kinda sad that no-one else solely from the world of Zdaemon jumped on board as it was CTF. it's FFA this time around so it'd be a real shame if no-one from the biggest Doom multiplayer port jumped onboard don'tcha think?

go sign up on the DoomWorld forums or join the IRC channel and kick some bottom!

So well euhm, can you just make en entire map? Or do you have to make a layout map or something? Kinda weird.

i thought it was all explained well enough.

you either make a layout or detail someone else's. this isn't to say you can't do more than one, just not on the same map.
maybe it seems weird to you but not to me. i've been on both sides of the fence before and when you're this many years into Doom editing then you have to keep finding fresh twists.

c'mon Space, wouldn't have thought you'd miss a chance to do some DETAILZ! Wink

Yes sorry I was lazy to read. And I am detailing right now. Wink

EDIT: Well cybershark it seems we had the same choice.... only the other guy didn't said it was yours. So I kinda wasted my time and don't want to start over. Sorry cybie.

yeah i didn't check back until i was finished and then i saw Sad

idk why they were slow adding me to the list at the top of the page but you should've read all the posts before yours! hmm... they currently have you listed as working on one of Shaikoten's maps... this not true? i'll go tell 'em if not.

the response from Zdaemon-only mappers seems to have been a little disappointing again, but hey! when isn't it? Laughing

btw: the time for detailing has been extended by a day, as people were still submitting layouts right up to the deadline. so if anybody has time today then head on over and grab a map to decorate (sometime before midnight E.S.T.)

Hey well it is true I do work on his map. People should read every post! Wink Razz

Anyway I like that map, 60% is done already.

And well cybershark, there aren't really mappers in this community anymore. Maybe alfred but I do not know more.

Anyway, cybie how is your map going?

yeah i know what you mean about the lack of mappers. there's plenty around but it's not like we have many that are community-minded anymore, most are just interested in doing their own thing Sad

oh and i finished my map last night after far too many hours on it. fixed it up a little more by request today, could've done even more but i was sick of the sight of it (and Doombuilder) by that point Razz

I had the same. I also could have done better, but since it is not my whole map it is pretty damn hard to do.

like myself, I think the detail and design counterpart teams drove away this community. I wanted to have to do everything, personally.

well no, it's not that, just too much in too short a time.
back when i was working on the Greenwar2 maps i took my time and really made them feel like my own - ended up doing 8 of them i think.

heh, well it ended up becoming a little 'unconstrained'. and yeah, it kinda killed me doing so much in one go like that so i can agree with that Alfie.

anyways, they're really working to polish it up, it sounds like it's gonna be awesome when it's done Smile
