Use Doom Builder!

DEEP and DEEPSea are hackneyed crippleware! Anyone who wants money for a functional editor designed to edit a game that's ten years old and open source needs to give their head a shake.

Hehe, actually Deepsea was released long before DooM turned ten. You have a point there though. But isn't it fair to get something out of your own work?

Anyway, is there a good tutorial for DooM Builder? I haven't yet tried version 1.5 (it could have one), but at least the older versions didn't have.

Deep is ones of those editors that can claim to be the first, their author worked hard to inverse ingeneer the Doom engine... it worth to buy them.

Thanks to those guys.

I wouldn't pay for Doom Builder... since Doom's sources are released and all spec are avaible now.

This document has all of your answers.

Short Answer: You can use pretty much any edtior, as long as it is either ZDoom compatable or supports adding things with a customized Thing ID's. Most modern editors are ZDoom compatable (Doom Builder, Wadauthor, DeePsea), but if you want to use an older editor, just add a regular thing, any thing, and change the Thing ID to one of the thing ID's that you need.
