Euro Intermediate Tourney March is now open for registration, Click here to register.
Rules
- Min Exp points needed to enter this Tourney - 1000
- You must reply to the verification E-Mail sent to you or your place will be re-opened for someone else. This is the first stage in making sure you turn up for your match.
- If you fail to turn up for your game you will be banned from the current Tourney and next months Tourney. Only sign up if you're sure you can play, we will not tolerate no-shows.
- You must contact your opponent A.s.a.p after you find out who they are and arrange a time to play. If you miss your match and the other player turns up, the above rule applies. If neither player turns up, the above rule also applies.
- Post your scores in the forum or E-Mail them to the Tournament moderator.
- Be sure to post in the forums at least once every round. If your match doesn't get played for whatever reason, then I have no record of what extent both of you tried to contact the other. The result will be a double DQ.
- It is highly recommended that you include a messenger service as well as email. They're free to get, and they will increase your chances of playing your matches greatly.
- You may only join either the Open, Int, or Novice Tourneys, this is to ensure players are competing within their skill level and to allow slots for skilled players in the Open. You can join the Open, Pro, New School and CTF/Team Tourneys running if any.
- Rematches are no longer allowed, if you have a problem during your match speak to your apponent to arrange another time as soon as the problem becomes apparent.
- Tourney admin must be notified before the end of a round if extra time for playing your match is needed, failure to do so can result in DQ.
- Aliases are no longer allowed. If you have more than one nickname and it is used on a regular basis that's ok, a new nickname purely for the tourney will get you DQ.

hmm looking at the registered players, most of whom have nothing to do in an intermediate tourney, why not just make more room in the open tourney and let everyone compete there ? |

dont forget more tournaments give out more tourney points and give the uhh "worse" players a chance to win and not be swept by somebody above their lvl. |

the question is whether having intermediete and open tourneys was the right move to begin with, i understand the reasoning behind this but then again, what significance does winning an intermidiate tourney have when you know the (allegedly) better players were playing a different tourney
much better aproach in my opinion would be having more spots in the main(only) tourney and giving out more points to more players, say for 1st - 8th place(maybe even depending on the overall players count)
or keep the current system while having a clearer criteria for seeding players in their respective tourneys, say i cant take part in the open tourney unless im runner up in the intermediate or better OR unless im level xxx in experience(dont tell me it doesnt show skill i know) and above or something of that sort, so basically unless you've been playing this game for a long time(exp), you have to win your way to the open |

32 player tourney has been done before. http://www.zdaemon.org/tourney/viewtourney.asp?tourney_no=119
For once that there are a lot of good players interested playing in this tourney, i see no reason why this tourney should be split into two. Unless there will be a lot more average players willing to play. Maybe then there could be 32 player open and 16 player intermediate. But everyone knows thats highly unlikely.
And about the tournament points... How about having same point system as in pro tourney? 1st: 30 points. 2nd: 25 points. 3rd: 21 points. 4th: 18 points. And maybe next four people should get exp like being in top four in the open: 5th: 15 points. 6th: 11 points. 7th: 8 points. 8th: 6 ?
Also..about the possible seeding. Maybe it could be seeded by tournament points. I know people who have the most tourney points are not the best players... But doing this could give more meaning to the points. If every tourney would be seeded by existing tournament points this could attract the better players to participate more tourneys. If you have more points, you get a better seeding in upcoming tourneys. I know pro players dont care about most of the tourneys, but getting better seeding in the tourneys they are interested could get them to play more tourneys. But if that would work effectively i guess it would mean that tourney point system would have to be started over... |

We know that we can create a 32-player tourney, but the propblem is, once created a tourney with a certain amount of players, you are not able to edit that number anymore. Therefore we need Raider, so thats why we havent been able to edit it to 1 tourney of 32 players.
Once we've talked to Raider the 2 tourneys will merge into 1, so if people are still interested in joining this tourney, register yourself in the int. tourney, because we have only 3 spots left.
Also this tourney will have one extra round, so please remember when entering this tourney, that the time for you to play your match will be less than a week . We hope to get this done as soon as possible, so the tourney can start even before the 4th of March.
Stay tuned....
Oh and about the tourney points system; me, Draza and Bones will have a proper look at it again, but for now that's not too much of a concern. I think paying a tourney is much more important than some lame points... |

Ok, both tourneys have merged. So for brackets and other info, this topic is now useless and I would like to direct you to the "Open Tourney March" thread. |
