Wouldnt it be cool to see some vehicular combat mods?
What about some halo type stuff?
hrm...
it wouldnt be impossible... especialy with zdoom's slope abilities and its near limitless open terain potential...
Your thoughts?
(IE: I'm thinking of some dumbass teamplay mods with CTF support and vehicles) |

how so?
you could make em with player sprites.. teleport and cameras it would seem
like
when player *activates* the "vehicle" he is teleported off the map, then a camera is activated.. and if you push left.. you move the camera left and so on... it seems like it could be done.. *seems* |

i was looking at this wad called ghostbusterdoom, one of the weapons i guess was converted into a car, even the player model was a car, i think its a neat idea and could work, here look for yerself http://www.doomworld.com/gbd2/files/gbd2.zip |

You won't see that player then nor would you be able to hit him.

thats what they did, go check out like level 4 or 5 or something, also i really like map1 of that wad, i'm thinking about converting it into a deathmatch map |

There's a chainsaw converted into the car, but if the player is viewed from "outside" he's a normal guy. You can't change those skins. |

You are free to hack the zdaemon engine and create a way to have vehicles. However, it would take a LOT of work to do vehicles as they are in many other new games, like ut2k3, battlefield1942, and such, as Doom just has a very basic physics engine. Not to mention the whole thing having serious limits on graphical abilities (namely the 8-position sprite views) |

Nope, it can be like the wads that use ACS scripting. Special DM wads that use vehicals. They can be the new dwango! |
