I was recently using zdaemon through doom connector and got a windows message saying the sound driver was in use by another application...I accidentally told it to go ahead with no sound. Now, whenever I launch Zdaemon or Doom95 I have only music and no sounds. I have tried changing the settings in both applications (Zd and Doom95) but no sound effects. I deleted all my doom2 and zdaemon files and reinstalled....no sound effects.

Can someone help?

Or you could try re-downloading ZDaemon Wink

Sound drivers always help. If you're using an old PC that is capable of running one sound stream at a time then you'll need to close all media apps whilst running ZDaemon. Also, if you happen to be using Windows 95 (which I doubt you are) ZDaemons performance/nature is unknown on that OS.

I've downloaded and installed a new version of ZDaemon...no change. I also run zd without any other apps launched. I have music but no sound effects.

Also, I have an old shareware version of doom1 and it works with sound.

I'm wondering if there's a config file or setup that I can run through zd to correct the problem.
