In original Doom 2, the arch-vile can self harm itself by burning monsters or players that stand near to it. However, for some reason this is not the case in zdaemon, even though in my opinion, it is part of the gameplay.
Arch-Viles have two things that causes damage:
1. The direct of the burn hit (20 damage)
2. The blast damage of the burn (70 damage)
The missing arch-vile self harm from the blast damage is a HUGE deal, because if the arch-vile self harms like that, you know you can kill it around 50% chance with 3 SSG shots. This never happens in Zdaemon (due to blast damage). I only noticed this bug yesterday, when I was 100% confident I am able to kill the arch-vile with its self harming blast damage.
This also makes the arch-viles a bit tougher, as when they infight a monster, they do not cause self harm as much. This is very big deal, when they are annoyed at an idling Cyber Demon, meaning that the arch-vile WILL run near the Cyber Demon and cause quite many times the self harm.
