|
|
Hello ZDaemon team,
Just wanted to request a few wads to have EXP enabled, or to have the player limit raised for a few.
I'd like to have Dwango21.wad added to the EXP enabled pool with a limit of 8 players. This wad has been played on ZDS and is generally accepted as being "competitive friendly", I think it would make a welcome addition to EXP deathmatch clusters.
There are also a few wads which have a 6 player limit, but I think raising the limit to 8 would be a great thing for servers, as many times we end up with tons of spectators eagerly wanting to join:
- execbrit10brit11.wad, which is a compilation of the brit and exec wads. The individual wads all have an EXP limit of 10 players, so it would be cool to see this compilation at least have 8 (10 is a little hectic anyway)
- dwangopackv2.wad, which is a compilation of the 50 most played dwango maps. Many of these maps are huge, with enough room for 8 or maybe even 10 players, it's a shame to have the limit as low as 6 for a wad with larger arenas
- dk_dm_pack.wad is a pack of maps I've made over the years. A lot of large maps in here with room for 8-10 players, similar to the wads above
I also noticed skin packs such as "monster_skins5.wad" and "rott_skins1.wad" are allowed on EXP enabled servers. I would really like to see 20skins.wad and bestskin.wad added to the EXP allowed list, as I made sure that each skin is OK for competitive play, not only in FFA and duel but CTF as well. Skins are really fun for the sake of variety. (Preferably add these with a player limit of 8 or 10, if that even applies to skin packs and such. I know its possible to add optional wads, but I'd prefer all players seeing the same thing)
I really appreciate you guys taking the time to read this request and would be extremely happy if you grant my request Cheers! |

It is true that these gamemodes apply on rules,
But the EXP stats are enabled on servers,...
Yet you didnt mentioned any servers.
Read there for more information:

Ah, my apologies. Last time I asked about this was a while ago, my cluster (doomshack.org) is totally verified for EXP and whatnot, it's just that the player limit is set to a max of 6 for those wads I mentioned.
If I set the player limit to 8 in the server console, I get a message saying "stats not being collected: dwangopackv2.wad must have a max of 6 players or less" and that's what I was hoping to have bumped up to 8 The max seems to be 6 for all the wads I've mentioned. (of course, if I add 20skins.wad or bestskin.wad for example, I just get the "stats not being collected: 20skins.wad is an unknown wad" message, hopefully i can get them added to the pool of accepted wads as well since all the skins are suitable for FFA/CTF/etc) |

Here is a list of all wads with exp (and maxplayers): http://www.zdaemon.org/?CMD=info&NAME=wads_stats
-1 means wad has no map(s) (e.g. vox, skins, addons, ...)
Since ZD 1.10 the exp system for servers is changed:
If the server follows the rules (FFA, direct internet connection, WADs & Stats list, allowed CVARs, ...) exp is enabled.
If not you get the message DoomKid said. |

Wad specific restrictions. Now that is interesting.
Also makes sense now why some servers were taken down and/or lost popularity. |

Oh man, I just realized, I would also love to have doomxmas.wad (and doomxmus.wad as well) added to the -1 pool! It would be great to have EXP enabled on Christmas themed servers from late Nov to early January! |

I'm sorry to be a pain in the rear, but strangely dwangopackv2, execbrit10brit11 and dk_dm_pack are all still giving me the "maxplayers cannot be above 6" message. However, Dwango21 and the skin packs are working exactly as intended! |

Have you attempted to restart that servers in question?
Sometimes that is required.
I can confirm that the settings on the back-end are correct. |
