Related to: Client hangs indefinitely upon loading MAP04 of nova2_D3.wad
Unfortunately, the issue still persists, and presents itself in additional cases.
ZDaemon client freezes in all the maps mentioned below when using the original wads with ZenNode built nodes. The issue will disappear when using the fix wads with nodes built using ZDBSP. Node rebuilds were initiated from withing GZDoom Builder.
This is how the issue developed over time:
1.09.01 the issue does not happen in at all
1.10b01-1.10b03 the issue happens in wide resolutions, it does not happen in non-wide resolutions
1.10b04-1.10b07 the issue happens always |

I can confirm I get an unrecoverable freeze on Whitemar.wad map01 in the aresa described, either 1920x1080 or 640x480. If you test this in fullscreen you may get be unable to exit the application without switching user and consulting taskman from that user environment.
I get no such freeze or odd behaviour running nova2-20160327.wad map04 or any other maps. I note that when loading map04, ZDaemon reports the map contains has a sector with 0 lines - while all other playable maps have nothing to report.
I don't have the exact m1500-prelease1 wad so can't comment there. |

Same problem as iddqd1.wad map12 freezes the client.
Tested with:
MAP04 of nova2_D3.wad
MAP04 of nova2-20160327.zip
MAP01 of whitemar.zip (larger outside area)
Fixed for 1.10.02. |
